Interesting new mechanics for the web swinging that I hadn't seen talked about elsewhere. Really looking forward to getting my hands on this next month.
The little island/area at the top is a nice bonus. The map being "almost twice as big" is a loose term considering they're factoring in the East River as part of it.

Apart from the bridges and what appears to be Randall's Island up top, that whole middle chunk of the river is probably mostly inaccessible apart from things like boats and things to hop across. I'm more than okay with what we're getting. A Spider-Man game doesn't need to have a GTA V-sized map. Would it have been nice to get the Bronx to flesh out the northern section of the map a bit? Sure, but it's not necessary since it's not really associated with Peter or Miles the way Queens and Brooklyn are.
Wow. I was expected insomniac to go big with this game, but not with stuff like this. I'm hyped!!Confirmed: you can do loop de loops.
You can surf on the water for a bit before falling. Giving you time to shoot another web without interrupting momentum.
You can slingshot from anywhere. Not just dedicated spots. The dedicated spots are just more powerful.

The main story can be breezed through in less than 12 hours, especially if you're playing in New Game+ mode and making short work of enemies. It was a short game in my eXperience, and I'm pretty sure I got 100% in location objectives.
Though I didn't get to play the DLCs.
Ì think I'm fine with the length of this being similar to the first game, for consistency. Some games really get bloated with each new installment. The main story can be breezed through in less than 12 hours, especially if you're playing in New Game+ mode and making short work of enemies.
Always same for me. I’d rather replay excellence than get a lower quality game that’s longer for the sake of it.I'd rather a shorter good game than a longer meh game any day of the week.
I'm intrigued with how they will set up the third game.
I feel like a Spider-Verse story arc is inevitable. Miguel O'Hara, Gwen Stacy, Spot, I can see Sony using those characters for the game with the Multiverse storyline. And it would an indirect promotion for the Spider-Verse movies.
Nah, its going to be Goblins.
I'm sure there will be Spider-Verse games at some stage, and I want to play them. I hope they get to finish what they are trying to do with the traditional stuff first though.Goblins, plural?
I'd prefer that they keep spider-verse out of this trilogy. I like the movies, but it would feel too much like following the current trends rather than a natural story progression. If they made a 4th game then I'd be more open to it
What would make sense to me is a spinoff game that's separate from the main storyline that features Insomniac Peter and Miles exploring the Spider-Verse. It can all tie in to the Spider-Verse movies too. Only thing is, it should probably be more linear than open world to fully make the most of exploring different dimensions. Maybe if they did it similar to EA's Star Wars Jedi series where you have multiple decent sized open world areas. We've already seen Peter in ATSV so they might as well keep going with that concept.I'm sure there will be Spider-Verse games at some stage, and I want to play them. I was thinking a separate series too. Keeping some of it a bit more linear would probably be better as otherwise there could be endless possibilities with a multiverse. What would make sense to me is a spinoff game that's separate from the main storyline that features Insomniac Peter and Miles exploring the Spider-Verse. Very about that the game has gone gold and that we can all play it on October 20th. I know a few people were worried that the possible game strike might delay the game so now their worries can be put to rest.Gone gold:

I've thought a lot about what a big budget linear Spider-man game, possibly by Insomniac, would look like. Shattered Dimensions left me cold, not because it was linear, but because the traversal was so plain and rigid. It would be cool if Insomniac retooled their traversal for a linear experience by putting greater emphasis on parkour/smaller scale acrobatic movementWhat would make sense to me is a spinoff game that's separate from the main storyline that features Insomniac Peter and Miles exploring the Spider-Verse.
