I just started looking at a program InstallPad

It looks interesting. If you have a windows machine you reinstall often, or need to reinstall programs for work, this might be a great program.

You basically download the .exe file (it does not install to a computer, its just a .exe file and associated .xml file for the list of programs to install)

It will go out, download and install the apps....

I am going to start playing with it to install my commonly used applications to see how it works.

I am about to start working on it going out and getting the following apps
Firefox
Irfanview
IrfanRecorder
Notepad++
Spybot Search and Destroy
Filezilla
Thunderbird
Mioplanet Battery Meter
Audacity
Foxit Reader
OpenOffice
WinMerge
Eraser
Keepass Password Safe
Pidgin
Skype
Karen's Power Tools - Replicator
7-Zip
FreeCommander
Lanspy
TrueCrypt
Media Player Classic

What do you think....ever used it?

Why not just image it? Use something like CloneZilla

Honestly never used CloneZilla...looking into it now...some people dont like taking images, like to install stuff fresh...but that is a different discussion.

Thanks for the link...to it

Costs though dunnit....and I'm too much of a cheapskate to pay for software so its FOSS all the way
