Any good place to start? And once I start, any good place to continue?

I know absolutely NOTHING about this character, comics-wise.

The extent of my Punisher knowledge comes from the two movies with Thomas Jane and Ray Stevenson from the 2000's. Oddly enough, I quite enjoyed both of them (don't judge, lol).

I'll be honest: I'm not a huge Marvel person. I tend to gravitate towards Spider-Man and that's about it. But there's DEFINITELY something about The Punisher that I find myself being attracted to, and I'd love to dive into more!!

Thanks in advance guys! :awesome:

Your going to get a littered with a bunch of responses saying read Punisher MAX, and you should. But to get started I'd recommend.

Punisher Born
Punisher The Tyger.
Punisher Year One.
Punisher Return to the Big Nothing
Punisher Circle of Blood

Then you can pretty much read anything. He's a pretty simple character to jump into, not very bogged down with continuity (except for some of MAX).

Awesome!! Thank you so much!
*Goes to Amazon right now and snoops around*

Yeah those are all good shouts, all the Ennis stuff is well worth getting - also I highly recommend you get into the current run By Greg Rucka which has its 8th issue out this Wednesday (1st feb) the previous issues would be easily found on ebay. previous titles include...

Punisher: POV
Marvel Universe vs Punisher
Punisher: the End
Punisher: Welcome Back Frank - this one should interest you as the Thomas Jane movie was very much based on this story. It also comes with the story 'Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe' which is just great!

Anyhow there are others but these will get you started. Leave a review if you enjoy! :yay:

"Punisher: POV" is pretty good. I like to call it Punisher vs CHUD.

Welcome Back Frank is a great dark comedy that fully embraces the Punisher's ridiculous side.

Punisher MAX: In the Beginning (or the Punisher MAX Vol. 1 hardcover, which has the first two trades) puts the character in a more realistic, superpower-free setting with that takes place in a real-life timeline (Frank has actually aged).

Go with whichever sounds more appealing to you. I prefer Welcome Back Frank, but would recommend the MAX series too (what I've read of it, anyway).

I've wanted to get into Punisher MAX for a while but the only issue with the hardcover format is that, at least as far as I can tell, volume 3 is completely out of print.
