Has anyone seen the movie?
I'd give it
8/10
I like it, I know nothing about rugby or South African politics other than the obvious, but it was a pretty good inspirational movie. It didn't even feel like over 2 hours to me. Morgan Freeman's performance as Nelson Mandela was excellent. Matt Damon as the rugby leader was ok, nothing to write home about, although I'm sure he was chosen just market the movie. There were a few overly cliche moments and the movie was little less controversial that most Eastwood hits, but the movie really draws you in on the significance of Mandela's decision to emphasize public support for the Springboks. I can see why that game was such a watershed moment, they had to go in overtime and everything. If you're bored and what a movie to watch, I recommend seeing it.
