So... who picked up Ion #10 today? :woot:

The Ion series is Kyle Rayner's funeral. Also the guys at the official DC comics boards spend alot of time insulting people who like Kyle Rayner [like myself].

What do you mean Kyle's funeral!? What's gonna happen to him?
:(

Nothing, he's talking out of his ass.

No hes not gonna die, I mean Hal has taken his place as Earth big time GL. In a sense the Kyle Rayner number one GL character is going to die. They gave him the whole Ion thing Imo to make sure Kyle fans don't get mad.

He was Ion before....seriously, get informed.

I think he meant the Ion thing as in the Ion comic book.
At least I hope that's what he meant.

And the Ion comic book for me has so far been great. I don't mind that Kyle isn't the number 1 GL as long as he is written well. Sorry for the rhyming. :) Besides, he wasn't the number one... he was the ONLY one. Bit of a difference.

Seems to me that Hal Jordan returning was way more about pleasing the fans than Kyle getting an Ion book.

The book is only has 12 parts, and its an insult that they made Hal Jordan take Kyle's place. Kyle was created to be the big GL [and last] on earth. Kyle was ceated to do what Hal has done to him!:cmad: :cmad:

Hey, Hal Jordan has been GL for what? 40 years. Sure they 40 long boring years but still. I value Kyle not because he TOOK hal's place but because he rather made that place his own, and that is WHY he is getting that 12 part book. If Kyle hadn't the great job he did, he would've just been killed in the crisis. Instead he got a power boost (and another dead girlfriend but that's beside the point).

Hal fans NEVER warmed up to Kyle and it's a bloody shame, but that's the way it is. Kyle may not be Earth's biggest GL anymore but he's on the verge of becoming the galaxy's greatest GL... if he doesn't get killed off by the end of his series. :(

Kyle is still 400 times the character Hal Jordan is and DC knows this.

That being said was #10 good and was the explanation of the Tangent Characters fit in well?

If DC actually knew that, Hal's stale ass would still be the Specter.

Not really, bringing Hal Jordan back was obviously a money making move and you can't argue that the hype generated for his return has made DC a lot of money even if his solo series really has been quite sub-par.

If DC honestly thought that Kyle was a bad character they wouldn't bother giving Kyle this mini or even keeping him around they would discard him either by killing him (lord knows they have had plenty of opportunities) or do what they have done to John Stewart and just never bother showing him on panel.

The fact that Kyle since he debuted hasn't really ever been without a title (bar a couple of months) shows DC have faith and like the character. I just hope this continues and evidence from Marz or the DC teaser image shows he will be around - I just hope they award him with a ongoing.

got it...havent read it yet....whats this tangent comics thing?

Hmmm, well Ion was pretty boring this issue. And for some reason Donna looks asain.

I hope Ion turns into an ongoing. And Hal's book has gotten a lot better.

whats with the tangent comics? wtf is that?

kyle may not be THE GL anymore :whatever: but the way things are shaping up he is set to become easily more important to the universe at large than hal is now and maybe ever was, even as the spectre...

Tangent was a line in DC comics in the late 90s. They took character names of DC heroes but created completely different characters out of them. In IC it revealed that this was Earth-97 in the multiverse.

They were all pretty crap really apart from the Atom was actually alright.

Welp, pretty much a so so issue. We see rayner in the bleed and we see daemonites... oh and captain atom. He explains that the bleed is the only place the monitors can't see him. Further goes on to explain that something is happening and the monitors know about it. Gives kyle a warning then they find their way out(kyle and the 2 kids) and kyle proceeds to put the tangent characters back in the lantern. When he arrives at Oa he gives gardner the tangent lantern's lantern. Proceeds to ask the guardians what they know of course they say forget about it and go about your mission. He goes to an asteroid base and who do we see? Donna Troy.... yyyaaaaaayyy oh and a few dead qward. Sinestro corps tie-in? Likely. Kyles future doesn't look all that great or at least his series doesn't.

well if the guys at the official DC boards say it, it must be true:whatever: you know. i dont see the hal/kyle conflict. if you like hal jordan, read GL, if you like kyle, read ion. or if you enjoy both characters (that is allowed btw) read both. there is no nead to go onto a thread about a book you dont read and bash it. if that was the case, i'd be all up in Wonder Woman's ****. anyways, i liked the issue. i really like the hints at donna and hyle getting back together. i think those crazy kids can make it,.

Yeah, this issue was alright, though not nearly as good as 8 or 9. I liked Kyle's interaction with the kids and I'm so gosh darn proud of myself that I read the Captain Atom Armageddon series so I knew EXACTLY what Captain Atom was talking about otherwise I probably would've had this Bamby look on my face:
"Huh? Where was he again"
:D

Ion #10
Overall there was nothing at all wrong with this issue; in fact, it was pretty dang solid and we get some answers...not a lot of answers, but some.

It's just that there's so few issues left, and with each passing page of nothing in particular happening, we come closer to the end of this awesome series. I just can't get it past my subconscious that there needs to be more stuff happening. It's affecting my enjoyment of this title...not a lot, but some. Only the fact that Kyle is obviously still going to play a major role in the DCU in the months to come after this comic is appeasing my anxiety.

The multiverse stuff is interesting, but not rivetting. I'm sure I'll be more interested in it when it starts to actually play a role in things.

I'm under the impression that Donna's not a very well-liked character, but I'm loving her right now and all the better if she gets back with Kyle as I'm suspected.
