I spent a long time denying that the IPhone could possibly be anything as good as people with Iphones suggested that they were. I believed that they were all Apple fanboys and under some spell Steve Jobs had cast on them. That or justifying an expensive purchase.

I should have looked at my PS3 and realized that while many XBOTS see any justification of the quality of the PS3 a desperate attempt to justify the purchase... the PS3 is actually quite nice and has some (a few) good games.

After getting the IPhone, I was taken back by the quality of the device just as I was when I got the IPod many years earlier, it was clear to me that this was the industry standard to live up to... and until you have one it wont make sense to you.

Anywho, enough about the IPhone as a device I want to talk about the game situation on it. much like the wii there is a glutten of shovelware filling up the games category on the app store, burying the great games that are out there...

so this is the Thread to talk about the good ones, the ones that are worth the money and why.

Ill start off easy and recommend Angry Birds and Cut the Rope as great physics games offered at only a buck a peice both are easy to play a few levels but keep you popping your phone out when ever you have a few minutes to kill. both have great cartoon graphics and run smooth as butter on the phone. must haves as far as casual gaming goes and good enough in execution for hard core nuts to boot.

I have more recommendations but I would like to hear from others what they are finding great as far as gaming goes on the Iphone...

I am a sucker for nostalgia, so yeah, Broken Sword: Director's Cut for me, and going to get Sonic pretty soon. I tried Predators too. It was quite enjoyable, and surprisingly, better than any Predator game on consoles. That's saying something. I also have had Chaos Rings for more than a month now and have heard great things about it as well, but haven't yet found the time to try it. Well, as long as developers keep mining from the great point'n click adventure games of old (Hello! Monkey Island, anyone?) and other classic gems, iPhone game devs can count on my money.

Yea i was gonna say Cut the Rope. Great little game.

I have secret of monkey island 2 CE for Iphone and I have to say that it translates super awesome to the Iphone, the controls for the first SOMI CE were pretty cumbersome and made for a less than fun experiences but the second game's controls are perfect... I highly recomend getting it if you're into the monkey island games...

I really hope they sell well enough for lucas arts to justify making a CE of grim fandango for the Iphone. that would be magnificent.

Ive been on the fence about broken sword... maybe i should give in and pay the piper... although I have read that the Hector game is a nice point and click as well.

My iPhone game library is as follows:

Peggle
Plants vs. Zombies
Angry Birds
Cut the Rope
Space Invaders Infinity Gene
Flight Control
Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor
Fruit Ninja
Scramble CE
Super Mega Worm
Need For Speed Shift
Mirror's Edge
Zen Bound
Zentomino
TanZen
Words with Friends
Chess with Friends
Monkey Island
Monkey Island 2
Civ Rev
Osmos
WordsWorth
StarDunk
Squareball
Crayon Physics
The Oregon Trail
Castle of Magic
Assassin's Creed
Wolfenstine 3D
Zenonia

Most were bought for 1-2 dollars during the awesome discounts that seem to happen randomly. There was a big sale a few weeks ago on a lot of big name games.

With all that said, Angry Birds is definitely the iPhone game. It has had constant updates with new content and is a load of fun.

Game Center has also been a good addition, it's nothing big but Achievements work on the 360 for a reason and I'm glad that older games are updating to add support relatively quickly.

Osmos is super awesome but the music makes me think this is chill, than the game-play is like goo goo wait nooo turn around and is actually stressful... weird mix for sure.

Just got TrainYard... pretty fun puzzle game, I recommend it to anyone looking for some fun puzzle gaming. starts simple and starts to get to where you really have to work on the solution for a while.
