I keep looking at various websites every few hours to see.. I can feel it being near.

I honestly think the casting of iron fist will be comparable to the casting of the big three (captain America, iron man and Thor) in terms of breaking the Internet.

I'm sure when it happens EVERYONE will have an opinion

i just cant wait to see who scores the role. Then i hope who ever it is does well with the role. Again we will likely have it in next few months and then filming will more then likely be summer/early fall.

No it's not.

For me the attention it will gather will be the same level as JJ and LC.

Nah it'll definitely be bigger than that. It's way more controversial

Iron Fist is C list at best and the only people really interested in the behind the scene activity like casting are fans of the character.

Iron Man was pretty C-list before his movie as well.

That was a big budget $150 million movie. This is a streaming Netflix TV series with a fraction of the budget and audience.

Also casting for the race of Iron Man was never an issue either. But if you think about it, there's absolutely no reason Tony Stark/Iron Man can't be a different minority either.

Iron Man at least had been in cartoons at some point as well as on t shirts and always at or near the fore front of Marvel related materials be it puzzles toys party supplies etc. Iron Fist not so much.

Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones) is now a writer for Iron Fist according to his Twitter bio.

so he wrote
- AKA I've Got the Blues (2015) ... (written by)
- AKA WWJD? (2015) ... (written by)

and did the teleplays for
- AKA Smile (2015) ... (story by) / (teleplay by)
- AKA It's Called Whiskey (2015) ... (teleplay by)

wonder if they'll use other JJ/DD writers

Would be great if they can get DD directors as well. Get Phil Abraham to direct IF episodes.

Iron Man has never been a C lister.

Respectfully, marcvader is right. Most people didn't know who iron man was til the movie. Most people laughed at his name. Others just called him marvel's rip off of Bruce Wayne.

Interesting. I wonder which eps of jj he wrote? I'll have to google him

I think people have different definitions for A/B/C list. In the comics Iron Man was always an A-lister for comics. Before the trailer hit the film media considered Iron Man and the Avengers "B-listers" simply because they weren't as market as Spider-man, X-Men, and the Hulk were during that time period. And when the trailer hit they promptly shut their mouths.

In the comics I would consider Iron Fist a B-lister bordering on A. He was never really a tent pole character but had some great comics particularly in the 2000's. I have a feeling he'll make A once his series launch.

Y'know, has there ever been a show similar to the concept of Iron Fist? I'm wondering exactly how this can turn out.

A young millionaire from a family business who goes missing for a few years, then comes home highly skilled in martial arts to act as a vigilante in his city? Yes, it's very similar to Arrow, but I'm sure Marvel will make it as different as they can.

Oh yeah. I forgot about Arrow. Also, I'm wondering how the rendering of the Iron Fist will look. I hope it doesn't look like cheap.

I haven't watched the show but if I have to make a comparison, this could have the same aesthetic of Marco Polo. If they are going to showcase Kun Lun.

I've heard a lot of people talking about Into The Badlands as a possible analogy. I've not watched that yet, though. While the show itself is supposedly not very good, the martial arts action and the show's overall aesthetic has come in for quite a bit of praise.

Marco Polo, I did watch, and really liked. The production values were off the charts and every shot was just gorgeous. If we get something like that from Iron Fist, I'll be over the moon.

I'm looking forward to the time in about ten years time when everyone says iron fist has always been A list ;)

While I'm skeptical that'll happen, there are probably people who argue Daredevil is A-list (those people are wrong, but he's certainly far more popular than he's ever been).
