it's a little annoying that so little info has been announced yet. No casting, no showrunner, etc. NYCC has come and gone and no news. Now what, San Diego 2016?

Those things can be/are announced at any time through press releases, no need for CC's.

We already had Golden Child in the MCU, and Stick killed him :hehe:

:wow:

the plot thickens...
I feel it was pretty obvious they left that thread untied. We never see what happens to the kid. We never see Stick kill him. It all happens off-screen. In other words: easily faked.

I don't find that surprising. If I recall correctly Jessica Jones show runner and star weren't announced until Daredevil finished Filming and went into post production. Luke Cage was cast much later when production on JJ got closer. A show runner for Luke Cage wasn't announced until about halfway through production on JJ. Marvel, as it seems right now, is only filming two series at a time, once JJ was finished they started on Luke Cage. I wouldn't expect production on Iron Fist to begin until Daredevil S2 wraps up. So following the timeline so far (As I recall it) they probably won't be announcing a showrunner for like another 4 months. That's just my guess they could reveal it tomorrow for all I know.

So basically they have some time to narrow any list, or explore any possibilities before getting the contracts signed. Remember we've only know about Luke Cage's casting for so long because he was in JJ, if he wasn't he would have only been cast probably a few months ago.

Read some speculation elsewhere about the possibility of IF being filmed largely in Hong Kong using local cast and crew and how that could create a marketing boon with Chinese audiences. Netflix is also making it's push into China next year I believe.

Cool, if they decide to do on location filming for K'un-Lun, if hope they go with something like this:

What's the deal they have with New York? I thought it was to film Iron Fist there? That would be the only problem with filming it in Hong Kong.

Well they have at least four series filming in NYC, I wouldn't be surprised if Iron Fist was filmed half hong kong and half NYC

I didn't know there was a deal but yeah I guess it would. Like I said just speculation. I guess parts of it could still be in HK or elsewhere tho

Hong Kong would be gorgeous for a series like this. Plus it's pretty much the setting of some of the greatest martial arts flicks of all time as well as having enough of an industry to support it. I would definitely love that

Oh my god, the internet is literally jumping on this "Marvel doesn't know what to do with Iron Fist" bandwagon. Now apparently Iron Fist is being scrapped & replaced. It's so bad.

The ONLY reason Luke Cage was cast earlier than his own show was because of appearing in JJ - something most of these "reporters/scoopers" seem to forget. Jessica Jones had a show runner so early because she'd been working on it for over 4 YEARS before this Netflix plan even existed. Krysten Ritter wasn't cast for the show until two months from now last year. Can everyone just cool it?

Gotta get those clicks though.

Yeah I saw that Shang Chi nonsense a few days ago on Facebook. It's frustrating.

What bandwagon? Only Bleeding Cool reported it, and other sites just regurgitated the story.

But honestly, would it surprise me? Not really. Iron Fist is the show I wanted to see the most. I am getting nervous now since we haven't gotten any casting or showrunner news at all yet. If we get into 2016 and these announcements still haven't been made, I will continue being more nervous for the future of Iron Fist.

That being said, if there are problems nailing down the character, I'm just not getting it. I don't see why Shang-Chi is so much easier to do than Iron Fist, especially when you consider the fact that Shang-Chi began in the Marvel Comics as the SON OF FU MANCHU. yeah.

It's not something to worry about really. Superherohype is like the Internet in general really which is that we all come here for the gossip. It's like one great big hairdresser. Whether or not something is true is irrelevant to wether or not we want to talk about it

Did you guys hear the rumors that Marvel's considering replacing this show with a Punisher show?

Yeah, right after the rumors they were replacing the show with Moon Knight, which came right after the rumors that Inhumans was being canceled as a movie. I'm not buying any of these rumors right now.

maybe it is due to Disney having an aversion to martial arts movies
remember when their Miramax division was nicknamed miramAXE for its editing of kung fu films ?

That makes no sense. This isn't a movie. It's a TV series. Also, it's based on a Marvel property.

They have a while to worry about this series. They don't really have t start filming until next year. So we should be getting casting sometime then.

If nobody at Marvel can handle Iron Fist as a showrunner, then I'd rather have the rumored Punisher or Shang Chi show or possibly an Elektra or Moon Knight show than have a rushed mess of an Iron Fist show. Better to delay a popular character than get him wrong.

Personally, I feel like Shang Chi is a bit too obscure and I'd rather he be a supporting character in Iron Fist. He's the option that I care the least about. Elektra, Moon Knight and Punisher are at least popular characters who have a fan following. Shang Chi hasn't been popular since the 1970s.

I can wait for Defenders season 2 to get around to seeing Power Man and Iron Fist team up.
