Netfix can afford some of the best people in the business. I'm sure they are not going to turn around and say they don't know how to do it.

They have jj, dd season 2 and luke cage coming out first.

It's only worrisome to those who aren't patient, which seems like everyone. The we only heard about Luke Cage's casting was because he was going to be a part of Jessica Jones's show. We heard information about his show waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay later. Even then, we still don't know much about it now. Clearly Iron Fist is coming, but they don't have anything to announce. I don't think we'll hear anything until Luke Cage goes into post-production.

we have seen gao, the steel serpent drugs, and carrie-anne moss as danny's attorney, all the links are there

a feature film is NOT good news for IF fans because 13 hrs is still > 2 hrs

I'm not in favor of this. I think there needs to be separation between the movies and the shows.

This would essentially be a DTV movie for Iron Fist. I want an Iron Fist series, not a one-off movie.

Why would you take Iron Fist out of the Defenders and blow an opportunity to have him and Luke Cage on the same team and interacting with each other? I don't buy this.

That's the worst of both worlds isn't it? The budget of Netflix with the limited run time of a movie. It would be better if it was either/or. Either a big budget movie or a Netflix series. Maybe marvel wants to make it a movie now but Netflix isn't letting them out of their contract? Even if they get punisher instead.

I'm sure no matter what happens Luke cage and iron fist will team up. I see no reason why the tv and film universes can't interact

Not buying this. they've had punisher since the netflix deal was made, iron fist should still be getting his show.

Also:
1. The Netflix deal was specifically for 5 shows. Films aren't covered in that.
2. The TV division would probably not be allowed to produce a film themselves, even a Netflix original movie. The movie division would want to be involved.
3. "peeltheorange" is a total no-name site with no track record. They've been putting out these IF rumors just to drive traffic to their site, no doubt.

JJ promotion is going to be ramping up, so we will probably hear from staff interviews and such what the actual status of Iron Fist is, and hopefully we'll get some legit news finally.

The worst-case scenario as I see it, if they don't find an IF showrunner soon, would be them introducing Danny in a possible s2 of Luke Cage and pushing the IF series back so they'll have more time. I don't see them giving up on doing IF, but I also don't think it will be any kind of film.

Obviously deals can change over time though. They might change one show to Iron Fist.

I still don't how how movie division would OK with TV division making a made for Netflix movie. Would Disney/ABC also be OK with that?

Not only are their sources described simply as "sources," they say at the end to take their own news with a grain of salt. That's the way to be convincing that it's legitimate.

You say that, but Marvel and Netflix haven't had anything to say about Iron Fist. Nothing about showrunners or producers. No casting. Luke Cage is already in production. Iron Fist is next.
