Nice to see progress on the show. I knew people were freaking out prematurely.

There's a synopsis too:

"Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist."

I wonder if that criminal element includes Harold Meachum, especially seeing that Danny is returning to New York after being gone for a while.

Scott Buck was the showrunner of the final season of Dexter. Yikes.

Sounds like he'll already be Iron Fist by the time the series starts. Guess no K'un L'un then, unless in flashbacks.

Like Daredevil, Jessica Jones and probably Luke Cage, he will have flashback.

I remember that Harold Meachum got killed by a random ninja in the comics. They could have him killed by Nobu's Clan ninjas in the show which could tie into Daredevil and the Defenders series.

Was just reading some of the Immortal Iron Fist earlier. Glad to hear this is up and running!

I think the ninja was a operative for Master Khan, but also a force to be reckoned with on his own.

I remember they never really finished his storyline, so it would be dope if they brought him to Netflix. But I think Harold Meachum should be one of the big bads. Like have him killed off by the ninja halfway through the series, and then Danny has to go after the real big bad. I would love to see this play out in live action:

So with Scott Buck doing this, I wonder what character Michael C. Hall will end up playing. ;)

Scott Buck was a writer/co-producer on Seasons 2-4 of Dexter, which is great. On the other hand, he was the showrunner for the last couple of seasons which was, not so great.

Remember how this was canceled? I bet Bleeding Cool is looking like idiots now..

That actually sounds alot like the premise to Green Arrow.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. I think it could work well here, though.

I'm excited. I expected someone with more of a Kung Fu movie background, but you can't argue with someone who is talented and his resume includes a lot of great programs.

Looks like it's adapting the Claremont/Byrne run. That's a very good sign. I hope that Harold Meachum or Chaka is the main antagonist.

IMO, Master Khan should be saved for Defenders since he's already a pretty big threat on his own. Let Season 2 focus on introducing Shang Chi, Steel Serpent and Orson Randall while bringing back Gao as Crane Mother. Khan is also a Luke Cage (and Namor) villain so I can see Iron Fist Season 1 setting up the big crossover before reverting to telling self-contained stories.

This guy's resume doesn't fill me with confidence.

Wonder how that idiot from bleeding cool reacted.

What about Peel the Orange?

Anyway, outside of receiving my Star Wars invite, this is the best news I read today. Finally glad to see the show is moving forward and it looks like it's finally happening. Really looking forward to the casting announcements and more.

Sweet, finally some movement. "Six Feet Under" and "Rome" were pretty consistently awesome but I haven't heard much good about the latter half of "Dexter." However, in all fairness, Melissa Rosenberg's largest claim to fame prior to Jessica Jones was writing all five "Twilight" films, so...no one panic.

Can't wait for casting.

Really hope we see Luke Cage in this show to develop that relationship before The Defenders.

Not thrilled with the choice but it could be worse, and tbh I'm just happy we finally have some progress.

You know I'm beggining to think Luke will be the leader. Or at the very least the one to assemble them. In the comics Luke has a close connection with all of other three DD, Jessica, and Fist. He should be the link between the 3.

Scott Buck was the showrunner of the final season of Dexter. Yikes.

Melissa Rosenberg wrote the Twilight movies, Cheo Hodari Coker wrote the Notorious movie and Steven DeKnight wrote various episodes of Smallville. So it isn't like Marvel hasn't chose people with iffy records, and helped them produce better results.

Agreed. I'm just glad that this is finally moving forward. The next news we hear should be casting.

I mean look, Steven DeKnight has already left Daredevil. These shows seem to have fairly robust writing staffs. Not to mention, you have Loeb there too overseeing the shows and calling the shots.
