Correct. Daredevil is B list at best. He's always been a C in my book.

Are you excited about getting to do scenes between Luke Cage and Iron Fist?

COLTER: The actor has been cast, but he’s in a basement somewhere. When the time is right, they’ll let him up and tell him where he is. I am [excited]. I’ll get a nice little break, after doing Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Whether I’m in [his show], I don’t know, but there’s The Defenders.

nice to hear of a writer on board for the fist show. Cant wait to see who ever gets on board and then casting and when it goes into production and all.

as fir where x character is listedironman def was not a lister prior to 2008. He was more b or c lister. Was known and liked but wasnt in the big boys club like spidey, xmen and others where. But who cares what lister any one is. As long as when they make it to film or tv they are done right and tell good stories. Along with that could bump there rating up a bit on the comics side.

Daredevil I put at B-list, but Iron Fist is solid C-list to me. This series might change that, though. I put Daredevil in C-list before the Ben Affleck movie brought him to more public attention.

According to mike colter, iron fist has already been cast. I wonder what the delay is with announcing it?

Maybe they know who they want but they're still working out contracts. Or maybe they want to make this into a big deal like when they announced captain America was coming back on Colbert?

Or maybe they're waiting for a slow news day? Or maybe to announce it during the lunar new year to celebrate? CB cebulski has just been sent over to Asia to develop more Asian friendly products after all so maybe he will announce it?

Or maybe mike is just wrong. Anyway I hope it's Harry shum or Cole horibe

Marvel wouldn't allow Colter to say anything without their permission. It seems they can allude to it, but they can't give out the name of the actor yet.

most likely reason is the contracts havent been signed and sealed and all that. Or if luke cage hasnt finished filming yet. I dont know if it has maybe the actor is due to film an appearance with one of the last episodes of the season. And they want to make a press thing out of it before said guy is spotted on the sets.

Or everyone is taking mike's words as truth when he could been making a joke. As with how when luke cage and the others where casting we heard of a few folks testing or going into talks with marvel. And there hasnt been a pep on danny casting.

I have a feeling Coulter got a call from Marvel saying "Yeah, don't do that again"

It's a nice idea that the actor playing Luke cage knows something though. It would be nice if they got whoever they were screen testing for Danny to test alongside colter to see what the chemistry is like

There's still that runor from way back about Ryan Phillipe and Iron Fist. That's honestly the "closest" rumor we've had about actually casting Danny. I know it's not the most popular to some, but I wouldn't mind seeing Phillipe as Danny.

it does make sense to test with mike if they want to play off the friends and hheroes for hire stuff with them down the road. But again i as much as i like danny to been cast already, and maybe shoot appearance in luke cage. Is cage even still in production. I dont know if it finished yet or not. Plus like i pointed out we havent even heard of any names of guys testing like we did with the others. Plus also like i said folks could be taking what mike said as a jest and think he is cast.

I doubt ryan is it. Yes he said he talked to marvel in past, or wants to work with marvel. But i doubt they cast him. he is what pushing 40s now. They are likely going to cast early 30s like the rest of them are.

They more than likely have tested Colter with whoever they ended up with and I wouldn't be surprised if he makes a cameo towards the end of if not the final episode of the Luke series.

I hope they can become a great duo, since that's really been the relationship dynamic I've been looking forward to the most with this group of shows, along with Danny and Misty.

Just for example, instead of a season 2 for both shows, you could just mash them up and make season 2 Heroes for Hire.

That's the route I'd hoped they take since day one.

It kind of does sort of make sense in context and kill two birds with one stone doesn't it? Just combine the shows.

This is why all this is so exciting to me. There are so many possibilities and ways they can do this with respect to the comics. Instead of a spin-off you combine both shows and make one mega show. So now we have all this coolness they did in the movies happening with the TV shows as well.

Like after they meet in Defenders, maybe Luke and Rand realize they actually work well together and should become a team. Maybe Rand doesn't have access to his fortune anymore, and this is what he has to do to get by.

The only thing I'd suggest not doing is don't combine Jessica Jones in Hero for Hire. If it's Defenders minus Daredevil, it'll lose some of its impact.

Although I could see an argument of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones: Heroes for Hire, leaving Iron Fist separate. Not sure if it's preferable, but I could see it working.

Well Jessica Jones is already getting her own dedicated second season. So I would say keep him separate.

I'm saying, Heroes for Hire with Cage and Rand as their second season so you don't have to worry about "oh second season for both shows..."

I am surprised with myself being more excited for Marvel's Netflix shows than for their movies...when I first heard about what they planned to do with the Defenders, I thought it would be of lesser quality. Turns out that Daredevil was on par with if not better than Nolan's The Dark Knight and Jessica Jones is one of the best psychological thrillers up there with those CSI, murder mystery shows.

I think it's because these shows can basically do what the movies can't. No they can't have giant budgets and big visuals, but they can explore more adult and mature themes but still exist in the greater MCU.

Also with 13 episodes, they have more time to explore all the characters. They get 13 hours, a Marvel movie gets about two hours and with so many characters, characters do get short changed.

If new Daredevil was a movie, I doubt we'd get all that juicy material with Kingpin/Wilson Fisk too.

If the quality of their shows is on par with what's come so far, you might find yourself wanting them to have individual shows, though.

I'm just trying to be pragmatic. Netflix says they want to keep two shows a year. At some point, they are probably going to have to add more shows. This means it might make more sense to put two shows together.

I'm not saying you are wrong, you could be right. However, there is also precedence in the comics for Iron Fist and Power Man simply sharing their own book together, and some of those were really good stories. I feel like there could be good potential for a Heroes for Hire season.

Ya they want two shows a yr 6 or so months apart. Now things could change. But likely won't be to after defenders airs. As then netflix has fulfilled original deal with marvel. And then make new deals.
