Iron Man Iron Man's voice

LOL. Anyway... I always imagined using Black Sabbath's song for the movie. I think it would be awesome if they could transform the song into a score. :oldrazz:

I figured the use of the song was inevitable in promotional stuff, but I really hope that they keep it out of the actual movie... and I'm confident that they will. It doesn't really match the apparent tone of the movie, and frankly, it's a completely different Iron Man. And it would seem so cheesy.

The movie looks pretty epic to me, and the score (orchestra) version of "Iron Man" I'm hearing in my head is equally epic sounding. I think it could be done without seeming cheesy. And getting back on topic, I'd prefer his voice to sound like RDJ's with a robotic undertone to it and maybe just a tad deeper.

I think an orchestra version of Ironman would kind of kill it for me. Most people were already pissed about it being in the trailer.

People were actually pissed that this song was in the trailer?

People can be so petty sometimes...

Putting the Iron Man song in the trailer is (in my humble opinion) right along with Favreau's style.

I don't see why people would be offended by it.

I think at the end this movie will have a great score and will be heads and tails above the rest of the Marvel movies that have come out lately. Iron Man could be the start of a new era in comic book film.

A new era of what? I thought we already were in an era of comic book movies.

I think he means comic book films that are done right. Comic book films that not only please the masses but the majority of fanboys as well, while sticking to the source material. I agree and disagree. Aside from 300, the past year and a half or so has brought us some pretty ****ty comic book movies, but there were some great ones before it and still some great ones to come, Iron Man looking to be one of them.

When I say new era I mean a movie that sticks to the basics of who the character is. Where the director sticks to the fundamentals and doesn't try and make it his own. Zak Snyder did this with 300 but when I talk about comic book movies I am talking more about the reall classic characters (such as Iron Man, Spiderman, Captain America)

I think it's possible to hope that one day we have the kind of connection between comic book movies that we have between comic books (crossovers).

Iron Man is the start of a character that has had a lot to do with major crossovers in the Marvel U and I think this movie is a good start. New Era as in Iron Man's connection with The Avengers and with Shield are a very good sign.

Well Iron Man is going to be Marvel Studios big accomplishment and bring better quality superhero movies without going through the bureaucracy of studios that don't specialize in it. I don't think anything ground breaking would come of it though.

I was trying to think of what to type but yes, 300 is a prime example of what I am talking about.

I liked the Spiderman series (more 1 & 2 than 3) but I think it would be much more daunting to take a project like Iron Man on than Spiderman.

But there are so many interpretations of characters like that, that there is very little middle ground on all of them. Only reason why 300 was so accurate was because it was based off one graphic novel, vs Avengers, Ultimate Avengers, Marvel Zombies blah blah blah.

I hope you are wrong, not because I would be right, but because I really do think that Marvel could be successful in producing movies that stick to the continuity (however messy it seems to be) while still creating a movie that produces a profit.

That would mainly be risky because Marvel would be putting every movie out on a limb every time. Imagine how much they would lose with one flop

I know, but there is a basic canon, at least of origin, with Iron Man, and when I think of ground breaking I think of the first Spiderman that really felt like it wanted to be true to the basic beginning of the classic character.

I really feel like Favreau really wants to interpret Iron Man, as faithfully as possible (because you are right Iron Man is much harder to do that with than 300) and give Marvel Studios the boost to consider connecting the movies as the comics do.

I mean I get what your saying, but this is also assuming Ironman isn't awful which is certainly possible but highly improbable. Spiderman though wasn't all that true to basic canon (organic webs) it was necessary to fit al this stuff into at least a 2 hour movie.

I agree that it wasn't completely faithful. But personally I view the organic webs the same way I view Tony Stark getting captured in the middle east. A small but acceptable change.

I am being as optimistic as possible with this movie because mainly I want the rumors about Fury to be true because that kind of reference would be hard for Marvel to ignore.

The only other reference like that so far that I can remember, is the Matt Murdock halucination from Elektra, and this one is much more vital to the current Marvel U.

But I am way off topic for this forum and am a noob so I will try to observe for a while because the whiskey is running low and I have to work in the morning.

Ya, I get what you mean, (I hate it when im low on the whiskey) anyway they could easily screw it up just as easily. I think this is more of an era of Marvel actually taking control of their own movies, which is good because they have so much potential but they totally blew it off.

I'll be laughing my @$$ off if Iron Man sounds like a robotic version of James Earl Jones (a.k.a. Darth Vader).

Agreed. I know from my wallet alone Marvel should have enough money to make some solid movies that are as diversified as the comics themselves and will be more than enjoyable to all of us.

There's a fine line between whats ok to change for movie purposes and whats not. I was ok with Peter shooting the webs from his wrists, although it took a minute for me to get use to it, but other things like Sandman being Uncle Ben's actual (and accidental) killer do not sit well (with me anyway). With Iron Man, although people were iffy with RDJ playing Stark and Iron Man at first, I think he really looks the part, and from what we've seen in the trailer, acts the part as well. The suit looks great, as does the CGI, and thats about all we have to go off right now. Let's hope it's as good as it's looking.

but like I said, with one screw up they could easily be down 150 mil
