Most actors start that way and on TV shows.

IronMan_2005 said:How reliable is Wikipedia? Its saying Christain Kane is rumored to be up for this role. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Man_%28film%29
Yes I know Jon Favreau said no casting yet, and they just got casting directors a few days ago, but still are Favreau and Kane buds or something?
and has any seen Kanes acting chops? would he make a good Stark?
Jon Favreau said:First of all, I have no idea who Christian Kane is.
Tony Stark will most likely not be "unknown." He will most likely be an actor who we hire because of the merits of his ability and body of work and not his marquee value. When you work for a studio they have lists of names of stars that they feel can open a movie. We have no such list. On Iron Man, casting is purely a function of who is best for the role. It might be a star, it might be an unknown. We will do a search, but my guess is the role will end up going to someone with experience. There are many great actors out there who have been in movies but who are not considered bankable stars. It is great to have the freedom to go in any of these directions.
I hope this clarifies everything.
Crimson Dynamo said:Okay, well as it's looking like my number one choice for Stark (Cruise) is looking less and less likely, I'm going to have to find a back-up. My current thinking is Ethan Hawke.
Now, Hawke is a good a good actor..I think he proved that in Training Day. My main issue with him is that I worry he may not have enough 'screen presence'.
