I just heard about him as a new cast member for a certain popular sci-fi series on ABC. He will also be in "300", was in "Love Actually", and "Charlies Angels: Full of *****". He's the biggest actor in Brazil and has done various Soap Operas.

I'm not his official "campain" leader (I honestly haven't seen his acting), but I thought it'd be good to throw his name into the mix. I mean, other than Full Throttle, his resume is pretty solid. Especially if he's goin' to be in LOST next season.

He's got a rep for being a womanizer. He's been an alcholic, getting over that hump. He can rock a 'stache. He can play badass.

I dunno, far as I see he's the right age, right look, good actor. I think Farrel is my guy for the role.

It would cost Marvel 20% of it's Iron Man budget just to land Depp. That's just silly talk. Stark will be played by a no name and that's fine with me. Marvel needs to throw every available dollar at the FX if they're going to do this film justice.

Um... I'm not sure. I've never actually watched one of his movies. The only American one I know of was Full Throttle and... I never planned to watch that. Anyone own the DVD?

Sounds like he's only had a few cheesy lines to work with and otherwise, people have said he sounds brittish.

And he officially has my sister's vote for Iron Man. I'd count that as a start.

Edit: I just used my 600 post on this guy, so he has to be going somewhere in American cinema!

I could see Depp playing Iron Man. I mean he can act like a pretty good drunk. I don't really mind who gets the part as long as it isn't Tom Cruise. I just don't like him very much.

He already has a proven track record of playing people 1. called Tony, 2. in Booze Hell, 3. with badass facial hair

An AICN talkbacker suggested Timothy Olyphant (Seth Bullock on Deadwood) as Tony Stark - excellent suggestion.

Jim Caviezel or Timothy Olyphant are my two top picks.
