...that Two-Face isn't going to be the primary villain in the third movie?

Because I am.

It seems to me that his arc in The Dark Knight relates very closely to Batman and Joker's arcs in the movie... Joker is the anarchist with no rules, Batman is the hero has follows certain rules, and Two-Face is the anti-hero willing to break the rules to do what he thinks is necessary... And I don't really see a major Two-Face/Batman showdown as the centerpiece of the third movie. It almost wouldn't make sense, based on the direction they're going with Two-Face...

Anyone else see what I'm talking about?

I am not sure I agree but it is certainly possible. And not the first time Nolan would do something like that to fake people out. Who would be the central villain of the film then though if that is the case?

Word around is that it would be catwoman but for some reason I don't see him taking such an obvious choice. Perhaps it was originally meant to be the joker again? I think he was supposed to show up again in the third one. Probably not Penguin (interviews previously given), Clayface (too "unrealistic"), Zsasz (already have him just doing cameos), Freeze (see clayface), Manbat (see clayface).... perhaps riddler, black mask, scarface, or firefly?

maybe the return of Ra's with Talia? Maybe Harley Quinn (doubtful imo)?

I would love to see Talia Al Ghul been used in the 3rd film.

With these sorts of things, you have to remember something that Marvel has forgotten... it's ok to have reoccurring villains...

And it's not necessarily bad to have ONLY reoccurring characters.

But then you have to remember something that studio execs take to heart...

With CB movies, fans want to see multiple characters be brought to life and execs want success while getting something fresh.

That's why in franchises, having another rogue be brought in to be given the big screen treatment is always going to be the norm.

But, all in all, doesn't that end up being a good thing?

I mean "Iron Man" was great but that doesn't mean I'm about to settle for Jeff Bridges as the main baddie again...and again and again.

The thing to do would be to have reoccuring villians but as smaller cameos...have them locked away in Arkham Asylum or something. That way you get the idea of villians still being around without having it be boring (oh look...Batman's fighting Scarecrow...again...) or without having them get in the way of the main plot/villian.

I think one actually needs to see TDK before talking too much about the direction of Two-Face

I heard there might not be a third film because nolan siad the dark knight is going to make the batman story complete when he was asked about sequels

Obviously we won't know much until we see the film... That's why I made the thread, it's an open question/speculation thing. Just wondering if anyone else is getting the vibe I'm getting.

If the movie makes money, there will be a third movie, even if Nolan isn't involved.

I get what you're saying. I honestly think that Two-face won't have a huge role in TDK. Harvey Dent will, but Two-face will probably be left as a cliffhanger for 3.
I heard from somewhere that Two-Face was supposed to be the main villian in 3 and Joker was supposed to come back as a secondary villian. However, Goyer and Nolan changed the movie's plot after Heath Ledger died.

I could see them doing the Riddler or the Penguin (Hey, it could work) along with Two-face.
