This thing looks like a clusterf**k of the highest caliber. It's just one more chink in the Bush administration's armor.

i started a thread on this like two days ago, and it's nowhere to be found...

yeah, i checked the first page and didn't see anything so i posted this. now that we're finding out that this all stems from the fact that the government privatized the healthcare to a company run by a former haliburton exec, i'm ****ing digusted all over again with the bush administration.

Has Flexo weighed in on this yet?

It's not really that surprising. The government has historically given veterans the shaft.

In 1932, there was this group called the Bonus Army, which was comprised of WWI veterans, who marched on D.C. wanting the government to follow through on the Adjusted Service Certificate Law, which would have helped the veterans and their families.

How did the government respond? The Army came in basically massacred them due to a technicality in the Posse Comitatus Act (this act prohibits the Military and National Guard from being used in a law enforcement capacity under Federal authority, EXCEPT when expressly authorized by the Constitution or Congress), since Washington D.C is federal property that is governed by Congress.

i'm still waiting for celldog's repsonse:

"the soldiers in that hospital are liberal nancies. if they were REAL americans, they wouldn't be there in the first place.

they would be out defending our country!!

:cmad: :cmad: :cmad: :cmad: "

I was stationed at Walter Reed before being medically discharged, i live in the area so frequent it quite often when needed. The place is not as bad as the media is making it out to be, Health care wise. It's once the Vets, like myself, are actauly discharged where the problem lies. And besides living in the barracks isn't soppose to be a cup of tea anyway, it's why so many of my fellow enlisted got apartments off base. The General who was relieved of his duty is nothing more than the fall guy.....blame this administration if anyone.

The thing is, it's specifically about Building 18 at Walter Reed

Yes...and it is absolutely tragic.

^That place is a dump. Just driving by it, you can tell it's poorly maintained.

That quote is stupid. The war is a waste, and if he is so branwashed by this war, then let him go out there and kill himself. There are Americans like celldog who dont know anything.

As for this hospital scandal, its sad.America is corrupt..and they dont even bother to put up money to help care for their solders?

you're right, it's not surprising. the thing that's so frustrating about it is that this is just another in a long line of examples of how the republican party spouts all this bull***** about how they support the troops and care more about america than democrats, and then we find out this stuff is their fault and it totally flies in the face of everything they've said. how many times do we have to get f**ked over by republicans before people wise up? they aren't more american than anyone else and they certainly don't practice what they preach in terms of supporting the troops. i'm not blaming all republicans, just the ones in washington.

I firmly believe all injured soldiers should be either

1. Given their own pizza parlor to run

or

2. Hooked up to a virtual reality helmet that gives them control of a life-like android with, like, ****ing laser cannon hands and ****.
