I think some of you are attaching a certain stigma to what an overachiever is and tying that to work and ambition, only. It's very possible to be an overachiever in your leisure activities and personal hobbies as well. To me, being an overachiever simply means giving your best effort in everything you do and trying to realize your full potential, regardless of the endeavor be it your career, your family, your friends, your personal interests, etc.

Being a good friend or brother is about emotional support and understanding. Not achievement.

Being a good father means spending quality time with your kids not buying them a pony. An overachiever who sacrifices time with their children to give their kids more material wants cannot be considered a great parent.

Many people overachieve for prestigie and have something to prove. Why get all those trophies and awards? So you can feel better than other people?

You completely missed the entire point of my post. None of what you say in your response even remotely relates to what I was stating and intimating. You get an "F". :down

alright, look at it like this...

there's a test...

you only need 60% to pass and 75 is an A

would you be happier getting 64% and doing like an hour's revision or doing 5 hours revision and getting 88%?

i'd be happier with the latter knowing i had the potential to do better IF i needed to....

the hour revision. cause im lazy!

I guess I'm an overachiever when it comes to sports and stuff, but everything else, I give a proud 50% effort. :yay:

AHHAHA, you need 5 hours of study to get an 88?

is that the same amount of effort you put in bed? lmao

There is no backpeddling. You flat out failed to understand anything that I was saying you illiterate, underachieving jackass. Here's the part you should have been paying attention to in my original post. I don't know how I can make it any simpler than this for you, except for breaking it down in monosyllabic words in a sentence no longer than seven words and frankly, you don't deserve that level of effort:

If that is too complex for you conceptually, then I suppose you'll just have to continue with your delusion and confusion; a state you are well used to by this point in your life.

How can you not apply overachieving into family?

How about people who strive to become better parents? As opposed to those who rely on their spouse to handle everything, or never make time for their child or just use money/gifts as a form of positive reinforcement. Wouldn't you consider those type of parents as underachievers?

Don't explain it to him.

gee overreact much?

Here take some zoloft. You delusional ill-tempered *****ebag.

I do just above achievement and just below overachieving... I find a nice "B Grade" lifestyle suits me just fine.

jag, you can't expect to getting anything that requires thought out of b_f. This guy makes his name by making large statements with absolutely no credible way to back them up, and then when he's confronted by logic he either resorts to childish "insults" or attempts to pass of his ignorance as a joke.

You speak words of truth, my friend. If we can save just one person from even briefly considering the remote possibility that blind_fury could possibly be right about anything at all in life, even just once, it will have been worth the effort, though.

I'm getting this tattooed on my chest...

Well a parent being an overachiever doesn't mean they have the right values. The may push their child too much because they see their child as another trophy. They may be overly strict in attempt to mold their child. They may be harsh too when it comes to failures. Having an overachiever parent could be nightmare. They might micromanage their child's every move.

An underachiever parent may be more lazy but that doesn't mean they'll be neglectful or cruel. If the child demands more attention I'm sure a loving parent will always do what's necessary.

blind_fury confuses overachieving with overbearing... :whatever:

how could this warrant laughter, you have no idea of the scope of study or examination involved in this hyptothetical question?

 :o :ninja:

It's review, right, so I assume you have all the appropriate materials at your disposal? If that's the case, doesn't matter, that's silly time.

Overachievement = get further in life but more disappointment

Underachievement = not so prosperous in life but more pleasant surprises

You have no argument. You are an idiot.

jag
You're the one who gets all amped up with ****** strength anytime you get slightly fustrated.
