Just wondering?

After seeing the movie a second time, i feel that emma is stronger than charles.... Anyone got that impression?

Thanks

I don't think that she is more powerful than Charles, it just seems to me that she is more used to using her powers in an offensive type manner, whereas Charles spent the early part of his life seemingly using his powers for playful type things, like flirting with girls in bars.

Could be.... which reinforces my position. At that point in time Emma was stronger than Charles.

Emma couldn't even fought Magento at his point, so I doubt her power is stronger.

Emma's power was nowhere near Charles' telepathic ability. She blocked him twice while on diamond form, but he did amazing things throughout the film.

Charles shut down the entire CIA with a thought...

Based Off of accomplishments I don't think it's close.

Have you seen how skinny January Jones' legs are? James McAvoy may not be a body builder, but I bet he could bench press more than Betty Draper ever could.

:hehe: and No I don't think Emma was as powerful has Charles.

I'm sure they will mind fight one another in X-men Class 2.

Maybe at this point of the story Emma is a more powerful telepath (as previously mentioned, because she uses her powers a lot more for practical uses), but in the end we know who's the more powerful one.

No, she's not more powerful, or stronger, or anything like that. She's more skilled at using her telepathy offensively and defensively, at that time, but Xavier's always more powerful than she is.

Charles is definitely the more powerful telepath, but Emma has the advantage of turning into her diamond-form to block him out. If it was just the two of them battling it out, Emma would easily kick his butt. Just my opinion. :cwink: But again, in terms of telepathy, Charles is stronger.

Emma was more powerful than Charles for the simple fact that she could block his powers. But, at that time, it seemed Charles had only been using his powers as other have mentioned, recreationally while Emma had been using and developing her tactfully.

Charles would lose a 1v1 fight against Emma unless he catches her off guard or they battle it out on the psychic plane. Otherwise, all she has to do is block his telepathy and then turn into a diamond and beat the crap out of him.

I agree. Emma seemed more powerfull. At least until this moment in Charles life.

Maybe in the sequel Charles start doing bigger things with his mind.

And hopefully against Emma.

Why I found ridiculous is that Emma was stopped by Erik so soon.

And why did she run to them? Emma could have attacked Erik's mind in just 2 seconds, and then have a little mind conflict with Charles.

But instead of that, she tried to scape running to them??

that was a stupid decision. She should be more intelligent than that.

that was a possibility, definetly, lol

but matthew and the writers thought it would be better to see her running to the door close to them.... to be stopped by Erik.

:whatever:

I have to say, I immediately assume that Charles is stronger when someone brings up the subject. Looking back on the movie I think they used their powers in different ways, and were motivated by very different goals. Perhaps Emma appeared to be stronger at times because of the way she utilized her abilities? It probably helped that she could turn into diamond as well XD

Emma can definitely kick Charles' ass when she is on diamond form.

To me initially she had the advantage of surprise, when she said "they have a telepath on board" and Charles seemed more surprised. In battle, that's a massive advantage.

But I think, telepathically, Charles is the stronger, and in diamond form Erik was stronger; the element of surprise was gone, which is why she tried to escape in the General's room. Of course, I still think she was inconsistently depicted - from one scene she swats Erik away like a fly, the next they can manhandle her in her diamond form?

Yeah, thats why they should have added a fight sequence between Magneto and Emma Frost in that scene.

She could throw Professor X and Magneto at the same time but they didn't go with that. :o

yeah....

there should have been some conflict there...

three powerfull mutants in the same room and the scene finished in like... 1 min?

In this particular movie Emma Frost is too much for Xavier to handle. He'll surely become more powerful at some point but he didn't have a hope of disarming her alone in First Class.

It all depends on how you look at the way they interpurated Emma Frost from the comics really. I mean the Emma we see now in the comics is alot stronger than Charles, especially after the house of m story. But if they chose to portray Emma as her self from before her joining with Cyclops then well here hellfire days she wasnt as powerful no.

In regards to the movie, i believe Emma and Charles are the same level but Emma has had more pratical uses for using her ability in defense where as Charles it was more of a party trick and only really used tactically until the course of that movie.

So Emma has the edge.

But i think they are the same level.
