It feels to me that this movie is crammed with as much stuff as the film makers can possible get into it, with no end in sight. They seem to be pulling out all the stops when it comes to adding in several villans, sub-stories, characters and now this 'movie within a movie' rumor.

Do you guys think they're doing this because this might possibly be the last Spidey movie made, within the Tobey Macguire continuity?
It feels that way to me.

I really hope this apparent over-kill of content doesn't backfire on them. Sometimes 'less is more' when it come to quality.

Yup. It does feel over crammed IMO. Especially when you compare how many characters they had in the previous two movies.

Anyway, it looks like Brock is getting the shaft screen time wise. And that's fine with me. I'd rather see more of Sandman and the Stacys than him.

this movie isnt over crammed, it looks like a great movie, the more the villians, the better.

I trust in Raimi, he wouldn't be doing all this if it didn't work for the film -- but I do get the impression that this film will be the best of the three because of the ammount of action, drama, and story that it is promising. :)

I think your name is over-crammed.

I don't think the movie will be over crammed. Concerning the villains: We have our main villain... Sandman. Harry has been set up in the previous films... he only has to attack now, we know his reasons. And along with the whole sandman-thing we have the set up for Eddie... I think it's safe to say that he'll be Venom for a rather short time in the movie.
I think all will play out well...

im sure it will, very well said:yay::up:.

spidey1 and spidey2 were very good, we got alot of new characters, gwen stacy, captain stacy, sandman, venom, eddie brock, alot more of story, peter, mj, harry, it brings more of the comic books to movie, this movie wont be over crammed at all, im sure of it.

Part of me still feels there is going to be some inevitable huge cliffhanger, and it will be revealed just a few months before the movie has it's May debue that a 4rth Movie is already in post production kept underwraps and is about to start filming again.

When did people get words that Pirates was beign filmed almost backl to back for 2 and 3.

It's about time they had several villains instead of one... And the movie doesn't seem crammed to me, it feels A LOT BIGGER in scope, compared to the previous two films- and that's cool! X3 my friend, THAT WAS CRAMMED!!!! Not to mention crappy.

hmm... X3 was not crappy, you are just kinda biassed I think (if I rememebr you heavily favored Superman last summer Naite) , granted it should have been longer and been given more time to develop but it was hardly a total crappy mess.

^ So true, I heavily favored Superman last summer and guess what, I still do! Superman Returns is one hell of a movie. X3 was enjoyable yet anything but fantastic. And it's the weakest of the three films.

I'm so sick of people saying this seems overcrammed. All of these things in the movie are pieces of the puzzle that make up SM3. A lot of things are integral to the story, and other things will just help improve it.

It's not like this is gonna be a 15 minute fan film crammed with as much crap as possible. This is a 2 and a half film directed by the same dude who brought us the first two. Have some faith in him. He hasn't let most of us down yet.

Wait until May 4th. You'll see.

It's the multiple villains and storylines that I want to see the most, it's about time they put out a more complexed film, with darker angles. I laugh silently when I hear some f--- face try to compare this film to Batman and Robin, yet Batman Begins had multiple villains and you Nolanites *********ed all over it.

Plus, the first trailer and Comic-Con footage, has set an intrigue within me, where there's no movie within a 5-year radius that I want to see more. Well, maybe James Cameron's Avatar, but that's it.

Well that's pretty much my main concern. It seems like when it comes to superhero movie '3' isn't such a charm. Blade 3, X Men 3, Superman 3, Batman 3...i hope the curse is broken with SM3......

It all depends on how it's paced. Some villains wouldn't need much screen-time, like Mysterio who will likely be there for comedic value or Venom who might only be there as an introduction more than anything else.

As long as the 'movie within a movie' isn't true, I'll be happy, but thought sounds lamer than war veteran

People just believe this movie will be overcrammed because they think there are too many villains. But in reality the villain aspect of the film won't be much more crammed than the last one. Sandman will probably be the only really major villain in this film, given all the sources confirming that he'll be the main villain. Venom won't even have close to as big of a role as many of you hope since the script summary says Brock will transform into his counterpart at the end of the film when Tobey tears the symbiote off in the church. As for Harry, this film is just finshing off his story arc established in the first two movies. His role may only be a little larger than the last except he'll have some cool toys to play with this time around.

It shouldn't be too hard for Sam to keep the film at a steady pace if he keeps the running time above 2 hours.

Well said, lordofthenerds.

We are not getting too much of a difference in characters this time around; and for those that do have a bit of a larger role are enhancing their screen time to only a bit, so this will not be an overly long movie nor will it be a crammed movie. In the previous films, we have been seeing a lot of MJ and Peter; this will now be sliced in halves to feature both MJ and Gwen. They will not be both getting the same amount of screen time as MJ has been getting in the past movies; instead, MJ will get half the screen time she used to get and Gwen will get just as much as her; this will not cause any sort of shift in movie time. Harry, in the past couple of movies, has also been getting quite a bit of screen time; this will be no more, if not less than the first two. Think about it, straight from the beginning Harry finds the goblin lair, and he is soon to become the goblin; we will see perhaps more goblin than Harry, and then he will die in about the middle or three quarters through I'm assuming. He will have exactly the same amount of time as in the previous movies, which is just enough, but this time he dies, which gives us even more time. Then their is Sandman; he will be our main villain, he gets a story of getting his powers and a story of perhaps dying; we will replace him with either Green Goblin from the first or Octopus from the second; so far there is even less of movie time than the previous movies. Then we see Venom, but not too much of Venom; unlike Sandman with a beginning and end, Venom only has a beginning and a bit of a middle. This can just be fit in the place of where Harry used to be, after he dies. So we have the exact same amount of time right now as the previous movies. All we need now is the introduction of Brock and Captain Stacy. I'm not worrying about Stacy since I'm thinking he'll just be a drift away character like John Jameson in the previous movies, and Eddie is the only exception to perhaps a longer movie; but even he does not need a huge introduction, only about five to ten minutes; perhaps him getting a job and losing it, and the rest is up to Venom. The only thing we should worry about now is that pesky fourth villain, or movie in a movie storyline, which will shift my whole opinion; but for now it seems steady.

Edit: I just realized that only about two people will read my excessivly huge comment; if you make any jokes about my post being over crammed I will permanently....uh..damn I can't do anything.

I look at it this way, with more characters, Raimi won't fill up the film with unnecessary lovey-dovey scenes like in Spider-Man 2. That film really dragged in the middle.

There will be more things going on at once.

very well said and explained, harry is just going after peter for killing his father, im sure sam will keep it at a steady pace, sandman is a major villian in the movie, venom is a huge villian also, its just that he wont be in the movie for too long, atleast not as long as we want him to:yay::up:.
