jeez, every damn year some child loses his/her life because they fell into the pool. seriously its not that hard to keep your damn pool covered or at least gated, especially if your have a kid.

That would require the parents to actually do something, and they all know it's much easier to blame someone else.

My good friend lost her son that way. It was a tragedy and not everyone can be as perfect as you guys.

How's it feel from the Cheap Seats?

feels pretty good.

but is it really that hard to take safety precautions and how does common sense make me perfect?!

I can't ****ing believe you. How many kids do you have? Do you have them Lojacked? Do you watch them 24/7? Do you lock your sliding doors constantly? Do you cover your pool after every use?

I'm done with you and your hypocritcal ********.

Not cool.

I wouldn't even have a pool with a little child running around. I just couldn't stop myself from worrying constantly. Hell, we had a little pond in the back of a house we moved into when I was 6 (my sister was like 2), and my parents simply drained it to avoid all risk.

We had a hot-tub, but it had a cover that was so heavy that if you could lift it, you were probably old enough to be in the tub anyways.

Oh, and GAH: unless you have your eye on your kids 24/7, there will ALWAYS be opportunities for tragedy to occur. It's not a matter of bad parenting (necessarily)...bad choices, perhaps (like having the pool in the first place without a cover, say) but it's certainly not as matter-of-fact as you're making it.

your catching feelings over nothing.

no i don't have kids and i don't see what that has to do with keeping the pool covered? who doesn't keep thier sliding doors locked? you never know when a burglar can be lurking around.

if i had one, yes i would keep it covered after every SINGLE use.
I also get the impression that you think I'm making fun of your friend which I am not.

I never said keeping eye on your kid 24/7 was the best away to avoid a tragedy. but something as easily as keeping your pool covered can keep your kids safe from drowning or whatever. I understand that **** happens, etc but keeping the pool gated or covered.....is not that hard.atleast i don't think it would be.

I think we all ought to have wider eyes on our loved ones.

I don't think every parent is perfectly guarding their children.

In response to a parent losing their child because of that, I don't think that's what we would say to them.

It became the law in my parts about two years back: to have a pool-you have to build a fence.Kids kept drowning in pools. In fact a kid drowned in a neighbors pool when the neighbor wasnt even home and two older kids with with him.Now even though that rule is in effect, children keep drowning.Just thought Id point that out as well,Kids are stupid ,twice as stupid as their stupid friends.

I guess stupidity is inherited
Contagious ,maybe,..I dont know about inherited.

We all had that one stupid friend, but we would never watch him drown. Not even you GAH,I wouldnt let you drown Id save you.Even tho you're about as useless as a prick on a Pope ,Id save ya :cwink:
