The Force Awakens Is JJ Abrams overrated as a filmmaker and writer??

Abrams is alright as a filmmaker, but I've seen nothing of his work that I would classify as anything above "good". I think overall his work has been decent but I just don't care for majority of it. I liked his Star Wars film, but didn't love it like I do the first six episodes of the saga. As for his Star Trek films I just really dislike them.
