Is Marvel Ultimate Alliance worth getting for the Wii?

the wii version is easily the worst one you can get (with the exception of the gameboy advance version) seriously, the psp version scored higher than the wii's, if that tells you anything.

Please I have so much fun with the Wii version.I don't know why folks are complaining about the controls but the controls work fine for me.Throw in a couple of exclusive characters,BIG EFFIN' DEAL!!!

ive played the game on a friends console and the controls feel tacked on and the grahpics do suck and theres no lying about it its fact. and im not a wii hater, like credible is. just being real with my opnions, don't like them then don't biatch about it. he might as well buy it on a 360 if he has one. MUA for the wii is nothing special.

The Wii graphics for MUA suck ass compared to the 360 and PS3 versions. I was going to get it for Wii, but then I saw side by side screen shots with the other next gen consoles and it can't even compare! It looks like current gen! Screw that. When it comes to a next gen system, I want NEXT-GEN graphics...not a gimmicky controller. And FYI, I have the game for PS2 and PSP, and I can say the PSP version is amazing. The 4 exclusive characters are better then half the regular characters in the game.

I think the PS3 is piss poor but I don't spend long lengthy times trying to bash it in the Sony boards.

Also, I too have played the Wii version. I think the ubtton control scheme works better but the controls aren't flawed on Wii. I think it suffers from the fact that multi-character action/RPGs require similar controls for every character (a problem the Wii will have with fighters) but they worked. I personally could care less about the technical advantages of say the PS3, because that's not why I play games. Oh well.

my neighbor has a wii and a gamefly account, so believe me, i've played just about every game that's come out for it thus far. maybe not all the way through, but i don't need to play an entire game to know whether or not i like it.

please don't assume just for your own peice of mind that i've never played a wii game, and am bashing it blindly, because i'm not. i simply (after many hours with many games) don't like the system.

Well I really don't think the graphics are that important. I prefer the 360 version because I do prefer buttons for this kind of game (same with fighters) over motion, which need to be maticulously crafted for game mechanics (see Zelda for example).

And Credible, you're right there have been some real dogs released on on the Wii (as on any system, particularly at launch) but if you've played most games why do you call Zelda or even Wii Sports a marketing ploy, a gimmick, etc? They most definetly work.

On topic, I suppose I do prefer the 360 version (haven't played it on PS3 yet or PS2) but if you only have a Wii it is stil lvery fun. My only hesitation would be that once you beat it, there is little incentive to return.

Now this is the right answer. The only reason people like it around here so much is because its a superhero game. The playable roster alone is a joke.

theres no doubt about it. i had huge expectations for the wii and they were all dashed out the window. game line up does'nt interest me. you think being in the gaming business for 20 years nintendo would get off it's ass and make games that are diverse. like the playstaion brand did. i dont like zelda never was interested, never played it. so i can careless for it. the only games im intersted in is mario galaxy and metroid. buying a console for two games im interested in is'nt worth it. instead of ****ing out zelda and maro. how about they make a ****in donkey kong, starfox, and a real wario platformer. characters with so much potential but nintendo can't do simple **** like that. so yeah im going to express my disaapointment in the system. they failed me with the GC and they failed me with the wii. unlike other fools. im not going to buy a console for a motion sensing controller. i'll buy it for the games and right now 360 has all that i want. mass effect,lost planet,assains creed,Halo 3,etc. theres no reason why nintendo could'nt have aimed for a more adult demographic bring a much bigger diverse library. there efforts are extremely lackluster compared to what MS is doing with the 360. a gaming comany in business for 20 years gets owned by and MS, pathetic. so the hell with nintendo and thier wii.

I'm just annoyed with all the Nintendo hate in the Nintendo forums. If you don't like a said system, then don't post about it. If you don't have a Wii...don't give your thoughts on a game. This is not just you GAH, but anyone out there in internet land. Playing the Wii at friends house is nothing like having one in your home, not to mention it's one of the lamest excuses ever.

I'm not one to make enemies, but I won't set back and look at pointless bashing. M:UA sucks on any system, good graphics or not it's a shatty game.

And you don't like Zelda? That's a pitty, Sony's been trying to rip off the franchise for years. The closest they ever got was Okami, and that was an attempt by Capcom.

Did you ever play Donkey Kong 64? It sucked, I could careless if they make another one. Zelda games come out every 2-3 years....how is that ****ing out? Mario is the freaking MASCOT! People are depressed when Nintendo launches a system WITHOUT a Mario game. Show me any kart game that's better then Mario Kart. If you have one, your lying. Star Fox is out on the DS, don't have a DS? Go buy one. A Wario Platformer was out on the Cube, and there's another one coming to the DS.

You know, you call people fools for buying into the "gimmicky control", you know what else is gimmicky? Super Graphics!!! Yeah, the 360 has some nice looking games, but I couldn't name ONE game I want on it. The only reason I'll buy a 360 for is for Fable 2, and Halo. They're both a long way off.

Owned....right, because they got a year head start. If Nintendo got the same start with the Wii that Microsoft got with the 360, I'd bet that wouldn't be the case. Nintendo made mistakes with the Cube, I'll admitt it, I HATED them for it....BUT! They are correcting those mistakes with the Wii. If you can't see that your either ignoring it...or blind.

I honestly don't care if you hate the Wii and never plan on getting one. Doesn't bother me at all, I won't try to convince anyone. But somethings that are said just flat out irk me. Well, contrary to what's been said in this thread, I'd say yes! I'm not a total comics fanboy, so I don't really give a **** if people like iron fist were left out of this game, but I still enjoy comics.

If you like marvel superheroes, and you like adventure hacknslash/beatemups where you level up and choose powers etc then you will love M:UA.

I've got a wii with wii sports, wii play, rayman, zelda and marvel. I'm 12 hours into zelda, but it's marvel that's getting all my attention just now. It's not a terribly deep game, but it's genuinely fun to play with these characters and build on them.

As for the controls, they do feel slightly tacked on compared to other systems, the worst thing being that you are seemingly unable to re-map which wiimote gesture is responsible for which special move.

As for the graphics, they are easily on par with zelda if not better, with awesome lighting/fire effects. The FMV sequences are damn fine too.

What people need to remember is that the wii isn't even TRYING to compete with the 360/ps3 in terms of graphics, they decided to focus on new ways of using controllers. It's essentially an overclocked gamecube. Everyone who bought one was/is aware of this. I seriously doubt all the guy cares about is graphics.

Now, fair enough, I admitted that the gestures do feel slightly tacked on, however it works, and what's more, you do get more into it, raising your hands to fire people up into the air with the human torch is addictive.

In my opinion anyone damning a game on a certain system because of the graphics has problems. If someone comes onto the sony board and says "I only have a ps2 and I'm thinking about getting M:UA, should I get it?" they want information on what it's like on the ps2, they don't want to be told "OMGZ UR CONSOLEZ IS ANCIENT GO GET IT ON 360 IT HAS TEH BESTEST FPS' EVER, I MEAN ITS LIKE ALL ITS GAMEZ ARE FPS!!!"

If you like the SOUND of the game, get it, regardless of system. That's my 2p.

I don't think brand loyalty is worth a damn. I've had almost every nintendo system, but mostly because I think Zelda is the greatest video game franchise ever created (and 3-4 years between games is not ****ing out...Mario yes, Zelda no). I know there stuff doesn't follow the big guns, big pecks, big **** formula of many games and game developers (yes I stole that comment from Kevin Smith about comic books in Chasing Amy) but with franchises like Zelda, true Mario games (none of this Mario Sports or MMario Party crap), Metroid and Super Smash Bros. they are one of the greatest developers out there. I have yet to see OOT be topped and the closest any game has come (IMO) is Twilight Princess, which admittedly I am only halfway through but it is the same Nintendo franchise.

I also get a 360 because I'm still not convinced the 3rd party support is there for Nintendo (I think after this holiday though we can expect a lot more) and multiplayer games in 3rd party are definetly given mmore attention to here than Wii (yet) such as MUA. I also really enjoy Gears of War and Dead rising (Elder Scrolls is overrated and grows boring real quick). I also am looking forward to RE5 (if it doesn't come to Wii, b/c unlike Ravensoft, I trust Capcom) and Asassins Creed.

But when it comes to games that are creative without needing violence (c'mon sometimes all shooters run together, y'know what I mean) and blood everywhere....Nintendo works. And I think given the Wii sales you can expect to see the 3rd parties come back. They left during N64 (though that system was so cool nobody cared) but it really hurt during Gamecube. But the Wii sells, so we'll see.

If I had brand loyalty though I'd buy a PS3, because PS2 was hands down the best system of last generation. But the PS3 sucks. Right now there are no stand out games at launch (as opposed to Wii Sports and of course Twilight Princess) and anything remotely interesting on PS3 coming out next year will be on 360 and/or Wii. That is a brand screwing up.

Right now it looks like Nintendo's biggest misstep was trying to be like Sony (Gamecube) when instead going the backdoor approach just hleps them topple the giant (Wii).

Oh well.

Yeah, I was blowing off steam. I put up with morons 8 hours a day 6 days a week who try to tell me things like "Did you hear the 360's getting recalled?! Yeah, Sony's forcing them to get recalled!!" and "Who's going to buy into the WHY junk?! Nintendo is for kids man!" Yes, morons still call the Wii the WHY even after I tell them how it's pronounced they still say "No, I read online that it's the WHY."

Normaly I get 12-15 year olds ripping on the Wii....and I have to set there and take it because my job says never anger the customer. So I let them talk out their asses.

I would have to assume that most negative comments about MUA on the Wii is justified because I haven't played MUA on any other platform.I do know that after playing MUA on the Wii I don't want to play it on a regular controller.It's the experience that matters and not the pretty packaging.I'm not going to lead any unsuspecting gamer on these boards to believe that the PS3 version is better simply because of the graphics.

Oh and another thing,before some of you cream your pants over the PS3 let's look at the facts
