When i saw this, it got me thinkning. I was over at newsarama.com, and they had news on how Spideys unmasking will effect him in the future. Towards the end a comment was made and it went like this:

Asked if Spider-Man's identity is revealed in Spider-Man 3, JMS and Sacasa said they didn't know, but David pointed out that he couldn’t not comment, as he is writing the novelization of the film.

Now we all know Peter revealed he was Spider-Man in the comics, but is something like this to happen in the movie? Normally the movies don't follow the comic books closely, but what if it were to happen? When would be the suitable time in the movie? *ponders* Spider-Man Day!! Or maybe not.....Though it seems to fit, it can be just any ordinary event for Spidey, and then trouble happens etc. This really got me thinkning, and if it were to happen, maybe it could play out for the sequels?

What do you guys think? Here's the article

I dont think so, and I hope not.

I don't think so either, it's just that comment had me questioning the idea.

ditto. like in SM2, it just happened.

Yeah it happened meaning people saw his face, but he didn't say who he was.

the thing im wondering is will sandman find out spider-man's identity, GG did in SM1, ock and harry did in SM2, and we know eddie will in SM3 but will sandman find out? another thing that well just have to wait and see

Agreed. And we can't forget Harry, so i think Sandman will find out as well.

Wasn't their already a thread on this???

The trailer made it clear that Eddie finds out and I wouldn't mind Aunt May revealing that she knew Peter was Spider-man but they should leave it at that.

God no. IF they wanted to do it, which I hope they don't and think they won't, I bet it wouldn't be in SPiderman 3. Maybe later. Hopefully not though. That already put a poor taste in Civil War.

Ugh, no. The origin story, Spider-Man No More, and now the Symbiote saga are all stories that have been adapted to the big screen, with one running theme --- their all good stories, not ****ty ones that undermine everything that Spider-Man is about.... ;)

Yeah yeah, this post is biased as hell, I know....

I'm not really following the Civil War, but I've looked up the basics of the story. I've felt betrayed by what Spider-man was forced to do by the writers. That's not Spider-man! Anyway, is there anyhope that he'll change sides or go independent? That seems more like the Spider-man I envision. I know this isn't about spidey unmasking willingly to the public movie 3 (he ain't gonna do it), but I'd appreciate any info.

Who's left anyway? Half of New York freaking knows his identity by now, those little ****s on the train 'we won't tell anyone'...bull-****!! they blatantly went to school the next day and swapped his identity for a snack pack...i Know i would

Maybe Venom will rip Spidey's mask off & JJ. will either find out or come close to finding out in this movie the same way he almost did in the cartoon.

Raimi will never do that in a movie. Period. I actually enjoyed Stracynski's stories before the unmasking. I'm already starting to await the next USM more eagerly.

I was disappointed when the mask came off on the train in SM2, but I hope that's as far as it goes. I certainly hope the mask doesn't come off during this "Spidey Day" ceremony, or everyone and their mother will know who Spidey is
