Is Stuart Townsend no longer Fandral?

I don't understand the mentality of the guy. First LOTR and now Thor? Two movies that would of given his career a much needed boost.

But he was cut from LOTR because Jackson thought he looked to young I thought?

No, I believe it was once again him being difficult to work with.

Him looking too young for Aragorn was what I initially heard as the reason behind his dismissal (I hear he originally read for one of the Hobbits) but later on I heard the real reason was that he was being a jerk off camera so they kicked him out and hired then 40-year old Viggo Mortensen, who just about everyone praised for being a hard worker and team player, always giving his best no matter how often he got hurt.

yea from what i recall it was trouble with his adititude and other things.

It should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway.... Stu's a bleeping idiot.

Is he serious with this stuff? He'd rather be the lead in a C-movie like Shade than play iconic "side" characters in fantasy epics.

I don't get his appeal, either. He was TERRIBLE as a lead in Shade. There was a point in that movie where it was clear that Sylvester Stallone was the better actor of the two.

Damn, I'm so glad Viggo got that part.

yea he was pretty foolish in causing problem yrs ago for lotr and then now with thor. And on top of losing thor role, his marry to theron is over.

Causing problems? Wasn't he fired because they thought he was too young looking?

That's what they initially said, but it's also been said that he wasn't getting along with the cast and crew, and that was the real reason why he got canned.
