after the game plane just owned a movie that had a lot going for it this past weekend

with this Doom, Be Cool, Rundown, and Scorpion King he has a slew of no. 1 movies to hang his hat on, now I'm aware that these are nether prime movie, nor prime release dates that they are being released on (except the Rundown was awesome) but still the question remains is he a draw now?? cause certainly the movies he is in can't be all that appealing

In a way, but his films seem to be like number one for a week and then drop hard. So take that as you will.

what movies aren't number 1 for a week, and then drop off?

this year its been Pirates 3...Spiderman 3...and Superbad...and.....

Doom, Be Cool and Rundown may have opened at number 1, but they also all failed at the box office.

So far the only profitable movie he's made is Scorpion King. Hopefully this new piece of crap will turn the tide for him. I like him.

More often than not, a good family movie can really pay off for an action star like the Rock. Say what you will about the Pacifier, but that joint made well over a hundred million domestically.

DO I think he is a good actor, yes. I think he can also improve and be a better actor, but right now he has shown me he can be the action guy or the funny guy. Unfortunately most of his movies are not what I consider "good" movies. Not because of him, just because of the scripts/production/$$$$..ect. I am rather looking forward to his Football/daughter movie (can not remember the name right now) looks like it will be funny. I think in time he will get better movie offers.

I think he sucks. But i do like him in one of the movies.Walking Tall was a great movie.

I hope he is. The Rock has so much talent. he can do action, and drama pretty good (Gridiron Gang) Always knew he can do comedy, cause he always made me laugh in wrestling. He needs that one script, because I think people like him. He can break out and be a star.

Yes!The rock is preety dam funny. When he was in the WWE & F,He was funny.

The Rock became a star, draw and a crowd pleaser the moment he joined the nation of domination...since then, people will flock in his direction just to see him breathe.

okay fair enough

but still that is 4 movies out of the what 35 weeks that have been no. 1 for more than a week

I also think the rock is very talented, I don't think he is in the best of movies always but I think he has the talent to be great

I think both his supporting role in Be Cool, and his best starring role in Rundown showed me what I wanna see out of more Rock movies

I think especially Get Smart, but maybe Southland Tales could finally give him the boost to A lister that he needs

You know, I think The Rock's a draw. I don't particularly care for his movies (though "Gridiron Gang" wasn't bad), but I like the guy.

He'll surprise his naysayers in Southland Tales.

he definatley has his appeal, I think the potential is there for him to really break out

if he can find his own Die Hard or Terminator role I think he could become that next willis or schwartzenegger

Hell, I even saw it. Great marketing campaign. They actually made it appear funny. Too bad "The Game Plan" looks like it will actually cause leprosy.

I'm not to worried about him, but I am about that movie, it looks cool as **** but it might be too trippy for its own good

Exactly. They weren't success.

Whatever happened to that Spy Hunter movie?

Dwayne Johnson has made the transition from sports entertainer to credible actor quite well. He has matured over the years as a fine actor, and thespian. He knows his capabilities and limitations, and seeks to go beyond the boundaries of what some fans might want to labe him as in Hollywood.

I am confident that over time, he will continue his mainstream success, and make people proud of his efforts and his accomplishments.

I look forward to seeing his current performance, and look forward to seeing his next performance on-screen. Hopefully, one day he will perform as a superhero in a truly great film.

He also played in the mummy retruns. it was really good. hes going to play in get smart with Steve Carell. it comes out next summer. what happend to him being in spy hunter movie? I hadn't heard anything about it for a while. I heard that the rock was going to play in it. I also want to see the game plane. it kind of remiends of the paifcer with van Diesel
