I spoke with a comic book fanatic in midtown comics, and he said the best selling hero of DC comics is batman. However, I have found no indication proving his statement so i was wondering does anyone know if batman truly is the number one seller? and is there any sources backing up your words...

Who else would be #1?

Only person who could even contend in DC is Superman and when's the last time a good Superman comic come out?

wizard used to list the top sellers of the previous month, but i just looked in the last two issues and it doesnt have the list. weird.

Batman and Superman are basically the two main DC juggernauts that sell well factoring the various merchandise and film and TV properties of both characters.

Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern will never I repeat never ever get the same type of hero worship as Supes and Bats.

Most of the time Superman was the topseller. But it has changed. Why? I don't know. Byrne's Spider-"Super"-Man or perhaps Batman fits better in the world of today  Superman is teh underground. :cwink:

Last month.

Is Superman ALLSTAR any good?
I'm not really into Superman, and i was wondering if it tells Supermans origin?

It's excellent. So is Superman Confidential, and it's more of an origin based (early Superman years) comic so you might be interested in that!

Whenever the last issue of All-Star Superman came out.

Here's June 2007 top selling comics

The highest solo hero for DC on that list is the Flash.

Edit: And here is July

With All Star Batman and Robin being the highest ranking and Batman 666 not too far behind it, as well as Superman/Batman and Detective Comics being in the top 50
It's not just about monthly sales, it's also about consistency. And, for what it's worth, non-comic merchandising, which Batman ****ing owns at DC.

For the Doomsday commercials, it said The Death of Superman is the highest selling comic book of all time. This true?
