Well there has yet to be an action videogame movie adaptation that I would consider a great film. I loved MGS I played it constantly when I had my playstation. I hope that they don't deviate too much from the game because thats a good indicator for a failed adaptation. Just adapt it straight from the game with minor changes to make it work in a 2 hour time frame and you have gold.

I think Boll expressed interest in an MGS movie at one point but I think Kojima straight up said no way which is a good sign if that is true.

Ehh. Wasn't there a rumor that Bale was being considered? I also think Eric Bana could pull it off. But in the past I have also said why not David Hayter the ****ing guy who voices Solid Snake but I don't think people like that idea much they want a star.

he Bale rumor came from an interview with Bale who said he was looking at a character for his next film "That is the only man you would never hate for having a mullet"... Most people took this as being Snake since there was already some talk over Bale for the role.

Aside from Riddick, Kratos is probably the only other role Vin Diesel would perform well in.

i want to see some manips of josh holloway (is that his name?) as snake... honestly, i think he's the best choice: he's known, but not so famous everyone will say like, "isn't that the batman guy? or hulk? or wolverine?" he's got a close enough voice, like he's been smoking for years, he can pull off the look perfectly (long-ish hair, scruffy beard, etc) he's in great shape already...

IMDb isn't always the must trustful source. I mean, they still have Toy Story 3 with 2008 date when Pixar actually is going to release Wall-E that year. Metal Gear Solid for 2008 is as far as I know only rumours. It might happen, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it

i found a segmant f some interview online about 20 mins ago. there will deffinitly be a mgs movie.

Gamespot has word that the Metal Gear Solid movie project is a reality. All we really know is that Uwe Boll will not be directing. From the article: "After assuring readers at length that German director Uwe Boll will not have anything to do with the project, as rumored, Kojima talked about the film.

'I have received many offers to adapt Metal Gear Solid, It has taken a long time, but we have finally settled on an arrangement,' said the revered designer. 'False facts aside, a movie project is underway. I have finalized a Class-A contract with a party in Hollywood.' Kojima did not mention the name of the party, a release date, or any potential directors or stars."
