Viper's first appearance was in Captain America and since then she's been mostly a Cap/SHIELD villain. So how did FOX get her?

Granted there are some ties with Viper in Logan. (Getting Married etc..)

However, since Wolverine is in Japan wouldn't it had made more sense if the "femme fatales" role was played by Lady Death Strike instead of Viper?

Not to knock Viper, I liked her character in Secret Warriors. But the question now is how will Viper be portrayed?

Can we speculate that Fox is trying capitalize off of Avenger's Black Widow by adding the spy element? That could be fun but I personally believe that reintroducing Lady Death Strike with a real back story would've been better in this case. But is that too late?

Some would say that this is a prime of example of Fox shoehorning in random characters in earlier films, having an unfortunate backlash.

What do you think?

Viper is in this movie because she plays a part in the story they are adapting.

She'd not a random addition.

What story would that be?

Claremont and Milllers Wolverine. Thats what this film is based on. The TPB collects Wolverine #1-4 and Uncanny X-Men 172-173. I believe Viper is in the Uncanny X Men issues with Silver Samurai. Things are gonna be switched up cause the X Men come in to play, but she def plays a part in it. Shes also usually always with SS, whenever shes fights X characters.

Outside of X-Men she Is mostly portrayed as madame Hydra. That connection won't be mentioned.

It's probally a case where Marvel has rigts to madame Hydra and Fox has rights to Viper.

Word is that The Wolverine will go on as if "Origins" never happened...

If so why not go with Yuriko Oyama's origin as well...?

But what ever. It is what it is....

Because she isn't a part of the comic story they are adapting.

In the filmverse they dont seem to have any known history. Wolverine didnt make any acknowledgement of her in X2. Would just be another inconsistency. I dont think this film wants to connect or mention any other X film.

I think its great! A new way to piss off the Fox-haters!

Well, if nothing else Mr. Psylock has proven the "bias" factor with this poll so I think I'll just consider it null and void.

Deep down I'm sure most people would rather see Deathstrike over Viper. But if spiting me just for the sake it helps some people cope then so being it....

For me Marvel's Ironman III vs Fox's Wolverine 2 should prove once and for all who's the 2nd best Marvel solo Marvel character behind Spider-man.

And Thor 2 might even prove who's 3rd and 4th.

I know who my money's on...

Well, since you think anyone who disagrees with you is just doing it to spite you, than I guess we don't need this poll or this thread.

Watch the attitude, YoungPrime. I'm not going to keep warning you.
