I`m curious....
How much of your life involves your Smart Phone?
Does it ever sit idle?
Are you ever without it?
Is your Smart Phone a voluntary convenience...or a habit ?

I carry my smart phone with me whenever I go out.

but it is a voluntary convenience and nothing more. I use it when I need it and that's it.

with that being said, I can certainly see how it could turn into an addiction and become your "plastic pal."

I use mine for when I'm traveling to listen to music, read, write down things. It replaces a lot of other things in one package. I'd need a watch, notepad, mp3 player, book, alarm clock and a couple other things to replace what I do in my daily life.

I usually keep it on me since I tend to write down ideas for whatever comes to mind for my books.

Besides checking my email when I'm expecting something, it's not much of a habit except for using music to help calm me down when I get irritated at the world.

If I don't use it every 5 mins then it will send all of my incriminating pics/files to the government. No use for 10 mins and the phone will send a charge to my brain instantly killing me.

I use it to listen to music, GPS, scheduling, taking notes, taking pictures and video, phone calls, and surfing the web when my laptop isn't around. Mostly when I'm out of the house. I occasionally do use it for watching YouTube or reading Kindle in bed.

Pretty much.

I will say, as someone with Attention Deficit Disorder, it's both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, it provides that constant stream of stimuli that my brain craves and allows me to multi-task. On the other, when I'm in a situation where I am desperately trying to concentrate on something important, it can be a constant distraction. Silently calling me. Begging to be picked up for no real reason.

I'm always playing with my phone... even when I haven't slept for two days. :sleepy:

I charged up my phone today for the first time in a month and a half because I needed to get a phone number off of it that I thought I had wrote down but couldn't find.

Yeah but, you're old.

I’m on mine way too much. I’m not the a** who plays on it during a movie in the theater but I have noticed that I can’t help but pick it up off and on watching movies at home.

I salute you, Sir !

Oh well, I have too gone the natural way. I no longer use cellphone or computer, all my communications are now face to face, and I only ever write trough the power of my penmanship.

If I am at home or hanging out with other people I pretty much never touch my phone. At work though I pull it out whenever I have free time, either to read comics or browse the interwebs.

I always carry my phone when I'm out, but it stays in my pocket unless I need to contact someone, someone's trying to contact me, or I need to look something up. I don't do social media, and browsing and message boards wait until I'm on my laptop at home. And I never, ever walk along the street using it.

i use it for an alarm clock

it's pretty important for my jobs to be able to be reachable, but i hardly ever use any of the social media apps.

i basically use it for reading and listening to music while working than anything. if i get a call or text i'll take care of them, but i dont feel like i need to be constantly tethered to my phone. in fact, its not even near me now

My wife keeps her Smarty-Pants Phone with her constantly...

I like to joke that it`s the 'vibrate' call/message function she enjoys the most...

Then of course, she hits me. :nuhu:

I always have it on me and use it all the time.

That's been the key for me, getting rid of all social media apps. Really the only app I'm constantly on is Reddit to kill time. Social media in the last year has just felt so toxic.

Removing that aspect from my life really did wonders for me.

i dont really understand reddit, so i never really tried to use it. pinterest interests me, as in the artsy crafty sides of it, but i'm afraid it's a wormhold i'd never escape from

I'm more of a lurker there as I don't post a ton of stuff. I just like all the current breaking stories on the net along with the memes and funny stuff.

When I had social media apps on my phone I found myself constantly checking to see who liked it or commented on posts etc. Now I rarely pop on from my computer mostly to check for messages from friends.
