Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjianai are The Lovebirds

People who hated that little part of her book will create a boycott, I'm sure.

Every happy couple has one moment that defines their relationship. Sometimes it’s bacon grease to the face. Watch the official trailer for #TheLovebirds starring @IssaRae and @KumailN – In theatres April 3. The Lovebirds on Twitter

I saw this trailer before Underwater and I'm not sure what to think of it. It does look fairly dumb, but actually sort of fun as well. I doubt I check it out in theaters unless nothing else is really out around the time.

It does.
It's a pity that audiences don't want to watch comedies in theaters anymore. Game Night deserved much better, for example.

Anyone catch this on Netflix yet? Serviceable and has it's funny moments, just nothing really special. Enjoyable enough though.

It's already out?

I thought it was a pretty fun film.

Really enjoyed it. I like both actors, I think they elevated the material.

This was essentially just a vehicle for one liners. The plot was stupid, but Issa and Kumail were funny.

It was okay, but pretty dumb. Some really funny moments between Issa and Kumail because they actually have pretty good chemistry, but the plot made no sense, especially the Paul Sparks character. I also hate it when they do the rambling improv in comedies nowadays which there is a lot of in this movie and it honestly got to the point where both of there characters began to annoy the hell out of me, because all they did was yell and talk over each other. Date Night and Game Night were much better versions of this film IMO.

Glad this landed at Netflix rather than being delayed for theaters. Pretty decent for a streamer movie but not strong enough for theaters IMO.
