After the release of Batman Forever, Joel Schumacher has been FIRED from Warner Bros., and YOU have just been HIRED to write and direct the next movie, Batman and Robin.
You have a type-writer sitting in front of you, waiting for you to start typing the script.
What would you do?


Me, personally, I would do these following things:

KEEP Poison Ivy.
GET RID of Mr. Freeze.
GET RID of Batgirl.
KEEP Bane, but make him exactly like the comics version.
ADD The Scarecrow.
Instead of George Clooney, KEEP Val Kilmer.


So, for an official cast, it would be:
Batman
Robin
The Scarecrow
Poison Ivy
Bane

...and I would go much, MUCH darker. As dark as Batman RETURNS.

Freeze would still be main villain. Barbara gordon would enter as Batgirl.

cast would be
-Johnny Depp as Bruce Wayne/Batman
-Bruce Willis as Mr. Freeze
-Julia Roberts as the love interest
-Chris Odonnell as Robin
-Alicia Silverstone as Batirl (she had a great batgirl in her at the time wether you think so or not)

I would do this:
1. I would get Michael Keaton to return as Batman.
2. I would cast a younger Robin as Wayne would be more of the father figure
instead of them being like brothers and close to the same age.
3. The Joker would return with Harley Quinn, thus the two villians.
4. Screenwriters would be Paul Dini, Bruce Timm, and Sam Hamm.
5. Batman finds out that Jack Napier ( The Joker) did not kill his parents, but
the other thug Joe Chill did and thus we have a small subplot of Batman
and Joe Chill.
6. No Batgirl in this one , the next maybe, because establish the Batman and
Robin team.
7. You would see Batman and Gordon working more together.
8. Julie Madison's role would be more.
9. Detective Harvey Bullock and Renee Montoya would be added as
supporting characters.

-Keep Mr. Freeze. Very few puns, maybe limit it to "revenge is a dish best served cold". I would adapt a lot of the Heart of Ice story, but keep the idea of him trying to freeze Gotham.

-Keep Batgirl, but now she is Commissioner Gordon's niece. Maybe instead of Alicia I'd consider Hilary Swank or Neve Campbell. Although at that time Hilary Swank was probably most notable for that Karate Kid movie. Barbara wants to fight crime due to a mix of wanting to make a difference like Gordon and hero worship of Batman and Robin.

-Maybe keep Poison Ivy, but she doesn't team up with Mr. Freeze. Instead maybe have Ivy as the proving grounds for Batgirl.

(I'll offer a thought, but I don't think Joel would've been fired after how much a success Forever was at the B.O., perhaps he left because he wanted to do something else.)

Instead of the cat and mouse notion with an uber amount of villians...
Mr. Freeze's origin is shown instead of being an afterthought surveillance video...and he captures Robin, threatening to kill him, if Batman does not pay a ransom of money for Freeze to use to save his wife. Poison Ivy is cut out and Barbara(who is the daughter of commissioner Gordon) becomes Batgirl to help and save Robin, with Batman.

Id basically morph the universe back to 89s and make a direct sequel with keaton. New villains... dunno...

Kept everything the f'n same and not change a damn thing.

It killed not only the franchise, but the genre as well. But if you look at the aftermath, we wouldn't have gotten the Renaissance of comic book films.

return the seiries to its darker roots by brining in Scarecrow, by making bruce see visions of his parents and of the Joker and other things......

6.Set it in the tone of Returns. No Neon. No Nipples.
7.Guest Apperance by Supes on TV.

Pick off where Returns left off. Instead of Poisen Ivy I would have the return of Catwoman and finish that storyline off. Bane would be treated as the main villain manipulating Freeze to be his henchman. I'd still bring in Batgirl but not as Alfred's niece. I would also have Dick Grayson turn to Nightwing and introduce a young Jason Todd who's parent's were killed by the mob.
