Starting October 12th at the launch of Pokemon X and Y, you'll be able to pick up a brand new Torchic -- one of the starters of Generation III (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald). After connecting to the internet and accepting it via Wi-Fi, it'll arrive at level 10, which is a perfect opportunity to basically raise him from the beginning of the game as a potential starter.
As an added bonus the Torchic come with a piece of Blazikenite, which allows him to obtain his Mega Evolution -- Mega Blaziken. Honestly, this is a pretty amazing promotion, especially if you've been picking up your free GameStop distributed legendaries.

I'll definitely be getting that Torchic. It has it's hidden ability. If trained right, that Blaziken could rule them all!!!

Apparently, no spoilers obviously, but Team Flare appears to be quite... dark.

I think out of all of the starter pokemon forms, the final evolution for the Fire type fox pokemon in this game is without a doubt the worst one imho.

They had so much potential with it being a fox and a psychic type as to what it could have ultimately looked like.

And I can't say that I'm a fan of the final version of the frog pokemon either.

If I get this game, I'll be choosing the grass type only for my Kalos starter.

That's so true! If they ever made an open world Pokémon Game, like this for example, certain Pokémon couldn't work on land like Magikarp, Goldeen, and others.

I like that they're taking this approach...maybe a foresight into what's to come.
