The English names are always 'terrible' when they are first released. You get used to them. There have always been crappy names for Pokemon. Seel and Dewgong, anyone?

The rest I'm merely indifferent to. Usually, these English names, I'll find that one, maybe three names that make me squirm uncomfortibly in my seat. This time, there's nearly 60 of these names that give me bad chills. Sour taste...

Not the best, but I'm heavily biased. The original 150 are the only ones that matter IMO

Watched some sub'd episodes of the new pokemon anime for the Black and White games. Giovanni is going to do something for the 1st time in 10 years, yay. Yet Ash is still 10.

Try not to think about it too much. He's been to 7 or so regions, over 100 different cities and towns, participated in annual, yearly, once-a-year tournaments, encountered Legendary Pokémon left and right...all within some four months.

I just got the sickest app on my Droid. It's an honest to God Pokedex that lists all the pokemon except the B&W ones. Movesets, evolution levels and everything in between is there. Very awesome

It's so cool man. I imagine once B&W get released it'll update with all that info. But it's the best pokedex I've ever seen. Very well done. It's called Pokedroid

Which sort of reminds me when are we going to get a Pokemon game with all 646 Pokemon?

I think most people would sacrifice not having new Pokemon introduced in the next entry if they decided to just do a new story and whatnot and introduce new evolutions maybe but include all the Pokemon and make some only available on the opposite version and vice versa.

Don't know why they haven't done this yet. Not enough processing power to make a big enough world to hold all of them maybe?

I'd mind. The only reason I play these games IS to play with the new Pokémon. Why else have I put up with the same story formula, the same cliché evil organizations, the same "8 gyms and Eltie Four" goals...Granted, BW does a lot of new stuff, but all these games are the same things over and over.

Only thing that draws me back is the promise of hole new Pokémon species. Seriously, since each generation usually stays relevant for 5-6 years, it would suck big time if after waiting 5-6 years with the then-recent Pokémon, we get another new Gen, and the Pokémon are NOT new. Then we'd have to go another whole generation with the same faces, the same Pokémon we'd been using for the last 4-5 generations and nothing new was added. The story will always be the same formula, so at the very least, give us some new Pokémon.

BW did the best thing by letting you transfer all your old Pokémon into the newest games, so you still have access to the older species, while also getting newer ones. Plus, the Dream World has all of the Pokémon anyway.

Diamond, Pearl and Platinum did a very good job of having a lot of Pokemon be catchable in-game, after you've beaten the Elite Four of course.

But I do miss the days of Red and Blue when just having those two games meant you could have them all.

    cool team, but...

i don't get the point in buying the Japanese versions of the game unless you can read Japanese... otherwise you what, just get your jollies by thinking you're cool before you have it before the US?

The core gameplay of Pokemon remains even if you don't understand the language. I played Diamond in Japanese and I got through it fine. I did it mostly because I couldn't wait for it to be released in English. This time I'm waiting for the English version, though.

So no, it isn't about 'thinking you're cool', it's mostly impatience.

meh.. it might be easy enough to follow, but i guarantee you're still missing out on stuff. which seems like a half-assed way of playing a game

Sorry. I didn't know I wasn't allowed to use my time, money, and/or resources any way I wanted, including acquiring a game I wanted, regardless of its availability. Guess when an opportunity falls into my lap, like seeing a movie weeks in advanced, getting money for nothing, or getting something I want early, I should pass on it. Lord knows YOU would turn down a chance to play or experience something you want. Guess that makes you feel elite.
