The Pokémon Company shared a new trailer for Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! with a highlight showing its new looks, exploration, battles, and various customization options.

The trailer highlights the new ways to explore Kanto, a look at key characters including your “friendly” rival, Professor Oak, and others. It also shows your partner Pikachu/Eevee that can be male or female and also customized to your liking.

Here’s more from the official website:

Although the storyline is the same in both Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, there are some differences between the two versions. Of course, your first partner Pokémon will be either Pikachu or Eevee depending on which version you get, but the types and rarity of the wild Pokémon that you encounter also differ between the two games. For example, Pokémon like Oddish, Sandshrew, and Growlithe only appear in the wild in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, while Bellsprout, Vulpix, and Meowth are only found in the wild in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!
Catching Pokémon
If you’re familiar with previous Pokémon RPGs, you’ll find that catching Pokémon works a bit differently in this game. As you wander through the game’s world, you’ll encounter wild Pokémon wandering around in fields of tall grass. If you see a Pokémon you want to attempt to catch, simply approach it.
Once you touch the Pokémon, you’ll get a chance to throw Poké Balls at it in a manner very similar to the mobile game Pokémon GO. The wild Pokémon will move around and may try to intimidate you, but don’t get distracted! Just wave your Joy-Con controller with proper timing to throw a Poké Ball. If you’re playing the Nintendo Switch in handheld mode, you’ll move the system around to aim and then throw the Poké Ball by pressing the A Button.
Your chances of catching a Pokémon increase depending on your timing and where your Poké Ball hits the target. Throwing a Poké Ball inside the moving ring will increase the chances of a successful catch, especially if the ring is small. The color of the ring shows how easy it will be to catch the Pokémon—with green meaning easy and red meaning hard.
Catching wild Pokémon will give the Pokémon in your party Exp. Points. Once a Pokémon has gained enough Exp. Points, it will level up. Your Pokémon’s stats will increase when they level up, and sometimes the Pokémon will even learn new moves!
You can make catching Pokémon even easier by switching up the type of Poké Ball you’re using or giving the wild Pokémon a Berry. If you happen to run out of Poké Balls, you can buy more from Poké Marts throughout the region, and you’ll also receive them after defeating other Trainers in battle. As you earn Gym Badges, the lineup of products at Poké Marts will increase and you’ll be able to buy better Poké Balls that have a greater chance of catching wild Pokémon.
Battling Pokémon Trainers

It’s not just wild Pokémon that you’ll face off against in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! During your journey, there will be some Pokémon Trainers who will challenge you to a battle. If a Pokémon Trainer sees you in the field, it’s time for battle. The battles here function much like those in previous Pokémon RPGs, so longtime fans will feel right at home.
In addition to selecting moves, you can switch out a Pokémon if it’s about to faint—or use an item to support it. If you defeat a Pokémon Trainer, your Pokémon will gain Exp. Points and you’ll receive prize money and sometimes Poké Balls.
The Kanto Region
The Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! video game is based on Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition, which was first released on Nintendo’s portable Game Boy system in Japan in 1998. Like the setting of that classic RPG adventure, this game takes place in the Kanto region. It’s amazing to see how it has visually evolved after 20 years.
The Kanto region is a varied locale, filled with small towns, cities, mountains, rivers, forests, and seas. There is a wide variety of places to explore and plenty of Pokémon to be found in various habitats. You’ll begin your journey in Pallet Town, a relatively small civic center that’s also home to your friendly rival, who just so happens to be your next-door neighbor.
Pallet Town is also home to Professor Oak, whose laboratory is near your home. The kindly professor studies Pokémon for a living, and he gives you a valuable gift before you set out—your Pokédex, a high-tech encyclopedia that automatically records data on any new species of Pokémon that you catch! He hopes to one day see a Pokédex completed. Will you help him fulfill that dream?
Cities and Pokémon Gyms
After leaving Pallet Town, you’ll eventually make your way to new places, including Pewter City, which sits at the foot of a great stone mountain. This city is the home of the Pewter Museum of Science, which has many Fossils on display. You’ll also meet Brock, the Pewter City Gym Leader who is sometimes referred to as the rock-solid Pokémon Trainer.
Pokémon Gyms are places for Pokémon Trainers to test their skill in battle. Before entering a Gym, you must meet certain conditions such as having Pokémon of a certain type or level. Once you qualify for entry, you’ll face off in Pokémon battles against a series of challenging opponents, culminating in a battle against the Gym Leader in the hope of earning a coveted Gym Badge.
Brock is an expert with Rock-type Pokémon, so you’ll want to be sure to have some Pokémon on your team that will give you a type advantage in battle.
After leaving Pewter City, it won’t be long before you arrive in Cerulean City, a place that’s bordered by waterways. When visiting this city, be on the lookout for a mischievous Squirtle that has been spotted in the area. The Gym Leader Misty waits in the Cerulean City Gym for Trainers to challenge her to battle. Also known as the tomboyish mermaid, it should come as no surprise to learn that Misty is an expert with Water-type Pokémon. Defeat her, and another Gym Badge is yours!
Interact with Pokémon
In between exploring and battling, it’s a good idea to relax with your Pokémon buddies. In Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, you can enjoy a little playtime with Pikachu or Eevee to strengthen your bond with them. Your partner Pokémon will sit on your arm, allowing you to pet, feed, and even tickle it. Not only is this little diversion adorable, but good things are likely to happen as the two of you become closer.

You can also feel closer to your partner Pokémon by dressing alike! Yes, you can dress up your partner Pokémon in various outfits, give it accessories, and change its hairstyle. Coordinate your wardrobes by matching their outfit to yours or mix and match different items to give your partner its own style.
It’s not just your partner Pokémon that you can interact with, though. Any Pokémon in the game can be your traveling companion. When you take a Pokémon out of its Poké Ball, it will walk with you to make your journey even more fun. As you explore the Kanto region with them, your Pokémon might even find hidden items. Plus, different Pokémon can travel in different ways. Some Pokémon will even let you ride them, allowing you to move faster around the Pokémon world. It’s a great way to experience the adventure with your favorite Pokémon!
Play with Friends
One of the things that makes the world of Pokémon so engaging is the ability to interact with other Trainers during your adventure. In this sense, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! do not disappoint thanks to their Support Play, which allows two players to explore the world together. (Both players can have a Pokémon travel alongside them as well!)
You can boost your chances of catching a wild Pokémon by throwing Poké Balls at the same time as your Support Trainer during Support Play. You can join in as a Support Trainer by waving the second controller, even after a wild Pokémon has already been encountered! Throwing the Poké Ball at the right time makes it more likely you’ll catch the Pokémon, and it will earn your party more Exp. Points, too.
Support Play can even give you an advantage in Pokémon battles against other Trainers. Team up with a friend, and you’ll both be able to control a Pokémon and issue it commands during the match.
You’ll also be able to connect with other players and battle them, too! There are two communication features to use for battles: local communication, which connects two nearby Nintendo Switch consoles, and internet communication, which lets you connect to players who may be far away.
And battling isn’t the only way to play with your friends. You can also trade Pokémon using these communication features to gather Pokémon you’ve never seen before and complete your Pokédex.
Please note that in order to use the internet-based communication features for battling and trading, you will need to enroll in the Nintendo Switch Online service that officially starts in September.
The Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! game is shaping up to be an excellent entry in the Pokémon series—not only for longtime Pokémon fans, but for beginners as well. Please look forward to more details about the game as we get closer to the release date.
Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! will come to the Nintendo Switch on November 16, 2018. You can check out more about the customization options in our previous report.

Okay I find it dumb that you have to have a requirement to enter the gym. You must have the type that can give you an advantage over this gym's specialized typing to enter.

Only for those interested.

Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee details Mega Evolution, Vermilion City, and Team Rocket
Published 1 day ago. 46 comments.

Choosing Pikachu or Eevee is only the beginning.

Pokemon-Lets-Go-Pikachu-and-Lets-Go-Eevee_2018_08-09-18_Top.jpg
The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have released a new video, information, and a trailer for Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! introducing Mega Evolution, Vermilion City, and Team Rocket.
Get the details below.
? Prepare for Mega Evolution
Many Pokemon can evolve into new Pokemon, but were you aware that there is also “the Evolution that transcends Evolution”? It’s called Mega Evolution, and it’s a way to gain power beyond even what normal Evolution would grant. The might of Mega Evolution momentarily unleashes the energy within a Pokemon, and it can only be accomplished through a strong bond between a Pokemon and its Trainer.

In Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, you can Mega Evolve certain Pokemon once per battle if you have a Key Stone and a Mega Stone that corresponds to that specific Pokemon. Deciding which Pokemon to Mega Evolve—and when—will be a critical factor in deciding who wins a battle.
Let’s take a look at some of the Pokemon you’ll be able to Mega Evolve in the game.
Mega Venusaur

Pokemon-Lets-Go-Pikachu-and-Lets-Go-Eevee_2018_08-09-18_006.jpg
When Venusaur Mega Evolves into Mega Venusaur, the flower on its back grows larger and its legs become thicker and stronger to support its extra weight. Its Defense and Sp. Def greatly increase, allowing it to withstand just about any attack thrown at it.
Mega Charizard X / Mega Charizard Y
Charizard can Mega Evolve into two forms: Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y. In each battle, choose the form that will give you the most advantage.

Mega Charizard X’s body color changes to black, and its flames turn blue because they burn so much hotter. It also changes types from a Fire- and Flying-type Pokemon to a Fire- and Dragon-type Pokemon.
Mega Charizard Y retains its orange coloring, but it gains sharp horns, a longer tail, and larger wings. It can fly faster than a jet plane!
Mega Blastoise
Blastoise normally has two water cannons on its shell, but when it Mega Evolves, the two cannons merge into a single large cannon that uses the power of Mega Evolution to launch superpowerful blasts. Its Sp. Atk greatly increases as well, allowing for more aggressive tactics in battle.
? Vermilion City
Vermilion City is the largest port city in the Kanto region. This charming seaside location is home to the Vermilion City Gym. Be on the lookout for the luxury cruise liner the S.S. Anne, which stops here once per year.

? Team Rocket Brings the Trouble
During your travels through the Kanto region, you’re bound to cross paths with members of the sinister organization Team Rocket. This dastardly group plots to steal and use Pokemon for their own nefarious ends! You can easily recognize Team Rocket Grunts by their black uniforms and the large R on their chests.

Pokemon-Lets-Go-Pikachu-and-Lets-Go-Eevee_2018_08-09-18_020.jpg

You’ll need to fight Team Rocket on several occasions to hamper their plans. With enough determination, you may even discover the leader of this band of ruffians.

Although you’ll battle many Team Rocket Grunts throughout your adventure, a particular trio of troublemakers will repeatedly rear their mischievous heads. Jessie, James, and Meowth are frequent foes in Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee!

Pokemon-Lets-Go-Pikachu-and-Lets-Go-Eevee_2018_09-19-18_001.jpg

The GO Park complex has a total of 20 GO Parks, with each capable of holding 50 Pokemon. That’s a whopping 1,000 Pokemon that you can keep! If you want to explore the Kanto region with the Pokemon you’ve brought over from Pokemon GO, you’ll need to catch them again in the GO Park complex first.

Linking Your Games

Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! can easily be linked to Pokemon GO through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology. Once you’re linked, all you’ll need to do is follow the simple instructions in your game to transfer Pokemon.

There’s no limit to the number of Pokemon GO accounts that can be tied to a single save file in Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! That means you’re not limited to connecting with just your own Pokemon GO account. You can get Pokemon from friends and family, too!

Although Pokemon that you’ve brought from Pokemon GO into Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! can’t be sent back to Pokemon GO, transferring your Pokemon over will earn you handy rewards in Pokemon GO that will help you in that game.

Challenge Yourself in the Play Yard

Once you have 25 of the same species of Pokemon in the GO Park complex, you’ll be able to challenge yourself to a special minigame in the Play Yard.

—In the minigame, you’ll need to lead all the Pokemon into the goal area within the time limit.

—The Pokemon will all be doing their own thing at the start of the minigame, but they’ll start following you once you get close enough to them.

—Watch out for the obstacle Pokemon that appear from time to time, though. Bump into one of them, and the Pokemon you’ve been gathering will get surprised and run away!

—If you manage to get all the Pokemon into the goal area within three minutes, you win! Your prize is Candies, which will prove invaluable as you put together your Pokemon team.

Pokemon Love Candies!

Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! will feature Candies—items that are used to make Pokemon stronger. You can increase Pokemon’s stats by using Candies.

Pokemon-Lets-Go-Pikachu-and-Lets-Go-Eevee_2018_09-19-18_015.jpg

There are different kinds of Candies, and each has a different effect. For example, giving Pikachu a Quick Candy will increase its Speed stat. Other Candies will increase stats such as HP or Attack. There are even some Candies that only have an effect on a particular species of Pokemon! Use all the different Candies wisely to raise a superstrong Pokemon!

Pokemon-Lets-Go-Pikachu-and-Lets-Go-Eevee_2018_09-19-18_017.jpg

You’ll be able to acquire Candies by successfully completing games in the Play Yard of the GO Park complex. You can also send Pokemon to Professor Oak to assist in his research. He will give you Candies in return.

It seems as though there are even more ways of getting Candies. Try taking one of your Pokemon for a stroll in a Poke Ball Plus—you might just get some Candies for your effort!

Aloan Form Pokemon

Certain Pokemon have regional variants—that is, they have adapted to the unique environment of one specific region and look and behave differently from the same species found in other regions. The regional variants of the Alola region are known as Alolan forms.

Pokemon-Lets-Go-Pikachu-and-Lets-Go-Eevee_2018_09-19-18_018.jpg

If you’ve caught Pokemon in their Alolan form in Pokemon GO, you’ll be able to bring them over to Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! in that same form. But if you haven’t caught any, don’t worry—there are visitors from the Alola region in Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! who will be happy to trade their Alolan form Pokemon with you.

Battle Legendary Pokemon

In the world of Pokemon, there are certain special Pokémon that are hardly ever seen. These Pokemon are known as Legendary Pokemon. In the Kanto region, where you’ll be having your adventures, three of these Legendary Pokemon are Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.

Pokemon-Lets-Go-Pikachu-and-Lets-Go-Eevee_2018_09-19-18_019.jpg

You won’t be able to catch these Legendary Pokemon the same way you catch most other Pokemon you encounter in the wild—you’ll have to defeat them in a battle first! Once you defeat them, you’ll have the opportunity to catch them.

If you are worthy to catch these Legendary Pokémon, they will become valuable members of your team. In addition, you can also have these mighty Pokémon follow you around as you explore the Kanto region!

A Hex Nut-type Pokemon interested in various things.

The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have released a new video, information, and a trailer for Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! introducing new Mythical Pokemon Meltan.

Get the details below.

What Is Meltan?

Pokemon-Lets-Go-Pikachu-and-Lets-Go-Eevee_2018_09-25-18_001.jpg

A new species of Pokemon—one that nobody has ever seen before—has been discovered! This Pokemon is called Meltan, and as of now, it is quite the enigma.

  • Name: Meltan
  • Category: Hex Nut Pokemon
  • Height: 0’08”
  • Weight: 17.6 lbs.
  • Type: Steel
Most of Meltan’s body is made from liquid metal, and its shape is very fluid. It can use its liquid arms and legs to corrode metal and absorb it into its own body.

Meltan generates electricity using the metal it absorbs from outside sources. It uses this electricity as an energy source and also as an attack that can be fired from its eye.

Clearly a curious Pokemon, Meltan is very expressive and shows an interest in all kinds of things.

Mysterious Pokemon GO Sightings

Many reports have come in about sightings of Ditto in Pokemon GO that have transformed into Meltan. The number of sightings has significantly decreased over the past few days, but it appears these “Meltan” are still appearing in various areas.

Research is being conducted on these appearances of Meltan, but we have learned that Pokemon GO is somehow key to meeting this curious new Pokemon in Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! We’ll be sure to provide updates as we discover more!

The Professors Weigh In!

The appearance of this new Pokemon has attracted the attention of Professor Oak and Professor Willow. What do these two experts have to share about Meltan?

—Professor Oak (Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee!)

Pokemon-Lets-Go-Pikachu-and-Lets-Go-Eevee_2018_09-25-18_007.jpg

Professor Oak does his research on Pokemon at his laboratory in the Kanto region’s Pallet Town. He is one of the leading authorities in the field of Pokemon research. In Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, he gives a Pokedex to both you and your rival—entrusting you with his dream of completing it.

—Professor Willow (Pokemon GO)

Pokemon-Lets-Go-Pikachu-and-Lets-Go-Eevee_2018_09-25-18_008.jpg

Professor Willow’s research centers around plenty of fieldwork—and the help of Pokemon GO players all over the world—to fully understand the habitats and distribution of Pokemon. He was once an assistant to Professor Oak, and it seems he talks to his mentor whenever he runs into a hitch in his research.

Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! are due out for Switch on November 16.

No Meltan love?

new-pokemon-meltan-6.jpg

More details are out on the game. Apparently the type advantage requirement is actually a quiz for the player to test them. You don't have to have that specific type to enter. There is speculation that the Legendary capture method can actually be applied to all wild Pokémon as an option in the setting, but that last one sounds like wishful thinking.

I posted this yesterday, But it seems something weird happend.

Wait, what's the Legendary capture method? Is it different from catching any others?

You battle the Legendary until it hits red and then it turns into a Pokémon Go like experience.

Interesting, thanks. The Pokemon Go capture method I think will be really fun with the motion controls.

Meltan and the Mystery Box.

The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have released a new videos, information, and screenshots for Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee!with more details on the recently introduced new Mythical Pokemon Meltan.

Get the details below.

Research Meltan in Pokemon GO

Professor Oak and Professor Willow have been steadily working on their research, propelled by the reports of Ditto transforming into Meltan in Pokemon GO. It looks like they’ve also realized that the Mystery Box is somehow tied to the appearance of Meltan!

New Special Research quests will be coming to Pokemon GO that will let you embark on a search for the Mythical Pokémon Meltan. Look forward to this new Special Research this winter, when you can participate in various investigations with Professor Willow and catch Meltan!

—Episode 1: A New Pokemon Has Been Discovered!

—Episode 2: Meltan and the Mystery Box

Special Footage of Meltan Has Been Found!

Recently discovered video evidence of Meltan shows the Mythical Pokemon to be surprisingly expressive. Meltan loves metal objects and will slowly inch its way toward any that it finds. It’s also very curious about its surroundings and seems to enjoy doing whatever it pleases!

The Mystery Box Holds the Key to Catching Meltan

Pokemon-Lets-Go-Pikachu-and-Lets-Go-Eevee_2018_10-10-18_001.jpg

We now know that Meltan appears in Pokemon GO. In order to catch Meltan, it is essential to have a Mystery Box, which can be received by sending Pokemon from Pokemon GO to Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee!.

Sending Pokemon from Pokemon GO into one of the Nintendo Switch titles will get you certain items in the app, such as Candies for the species of Pokemon you sent. However, the first time you send a Pokemon, you’ll also be able to get a very special item: a Mystery Box!

Pokemon-Lets-Go-Pikachu-and-Lets-Go-Eevee_2018_10-10-18_002.jpg

Pokemon-Lets-Go-Pikachu-and-Lets-Go-Eevee_2018_10-10-18_003.jpg

The Mystery Box closes itself after it’s used once. The only way to open it again is to wait a set amount of time, and then send another Pokemon to Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! You can also get a Mystery Box for sending Pokemon to a friend’s Nintendo Switch game, but you can only have one Mystery Box at a time!

Meltan will begin to appear once a Mystery Box is opened in Pokemon GO, but be careful—they’ll only appear for the player that opened the Mystery Box. Touch a Meltan you see on the field map, and then try to catch it with a Poke Ball!

Pokemon-Lets-Go-Pikachu-and-Lets-Go-Eevee_2018_10-10-18_006.jpg

You can then bring the Meltan you catch in Pokemon GO to Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, where it can follow you around during your adventure in the Kanto region. Even if you don’t catch Meltan in Pokemon GO yourself, you can ask a friend to send one that they’ve caught into your Nintendo Switch game.
