OK is this Dark Knight Returns really going to happen?

I saw a blurb about it on G4 coverage of the Comic-con...

If it is, is it gonna be live action or animated?

DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING?

Yes Timm is doing TDKR and Kingdom Come those are suppose to be the next movies coming out after S/D JL: NF and TT: TJC

WHEN ARE THEY COMING OUT?

bruce timm?

will they look anything like BTAS?

Well...I would prefer live actions for all the projects he is doing.

Death and Return of Superman would be my pick for a Superman trilogy. Kingdom Come would be an unbeatable superhero epic (if done right). TDKR would be a great Batman movie (assuming that WB would allow it to be R-rated...it needs that edge).

I hope to see all these stories done on the big screen someday.

If he is still gonna do DC movies, WHY NOT CONTINUE THE DCAU :cmad:

Warner Bros Animation has expressed interest in doing the Dark Knight Returns along with Kingdom Come but nothing has been confirmed. And just like Justice League: The New Frontier and Teen Titans: the Judas Contract, they want Frank Miller's involvement. Judging from Superman/Doomsday and Justice League: The New Frontier, I bet a Dark Knight Returns movie would look something like this:

Why did Timm ever stop making DCAU? I don't get it....weren't they successful and it just started connecting with JLU.

Darn it.

^^ Yep because Cartoon Network wanted to put more live action stuff on instead

Huh. Don't know why Bruce Timm always insists on the same type of animation all the time. I'm not too excited for an animated movie. I haven't watched a cartoon in years and see that things still haven't changed much.

I love his animation and character designs. So much better than the half america half anime garbage we get today.

As far as DC direct to dvds go I've hear only Superman : Doomsday, JLA:New Frontier and New Teen Titans :the Judas Contract. ONLY those are confirmed.

What might *possibly* happen in the future are Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern animated dvds.

I have NOT heard of either Dark Knight or Kingdom Come animated dvds. Now the Batman Begins sequel is called The Dark Knight.

Well considering they are using DTV's as a launching pad for animating classic Graphic Novels, they are more than likley going to do a DKR DTV than a Aquaman or Green Lantern DTV. Wonder Woman is being made already there is a promo sheet floating around for it on the net it supposed to see how much interested can be garnered from an animated movie too see if a live action movie is worth the money.

Comics stuff needs it's own channel. Maybe DC and Marvel each need their own channel OR more likely they could get together and split the cost(maybe invite Darkhorse and Image in as well) since it's unlikely any of them would initially have enough material to fill 24 hrs a day/ 7 days a week. It could be a mix of live action and animation as well. This is eventually where I see comics adaptions going in the next 10-20 years. TV's a better medium for capturing the serialized nature of comics than feature length movies are anyway.

If they do do this, Frank Miller would have to be in charge or at least oversee the project!

I don't understand why some people have such a chip on their shoulder about Justice League getting cancelled. IT WAS ON FOR LIKE 8 FREAKIN' YEARS!

5 seasons. 2 of JL and 3 of JLU. And people are still upset about it because it was a great show that was cancled for BS reasons.

Okay, I was off by 3 years. But still, 5 seasons is a pretty long friggin' run for an animated TV series.
