WTF????:csad:

Yeah...

Ghost Rider was #1 for quite a while as well. WTF is that about? I laughed through that entire film.

i've lost it the day i was born, but this come as a shock, motherfracking stupid people :(

Look at the majority of the threads and topic discussions on these boards. That alone should have given you a moment of clarity......exactly a year ago.

Here is a post I left over at themovieblog about the box office.

Ok so I'm working in the cinema, you got two kinds of people. First kind are the movie geeks. They have taste, they have checked whats good and what's not good. They're the ones going to the right movie. Then you have the clueless movie goers. There are a LOT of these people. These people make up the large number. They walk in to the cinema, see Eddie Murphy's name and face on the Norbit poster and BANG they go to Norbit. They even come out liking it. These people no nothing about movies, these people might just own 2 dvd's at home, these people are ****ing clueless and it effects us.
These people ask the same ****ing questions to me every week. ''I don't know what to go see, whats good?'' I say 300. They say ''Whats that Wild Hogs movie about, it looks funny''. I said, no it's really bad. They say ''hmmmm I'll go to Wild Hogs the poster looks funny''. I say, you can't judge a book by it's cover. But thats what people are doing.
Most people who go to the cinema are not HUGE into movies. They no nothing because they really don't care. Their there to see a brain dead flick because they have no idea about other movies that are out and thats a real shame.

Those are for easter weekend right?
I'm sure there was a huge mass of families attending that film.
I'm not too surprised. Kids are out of school it's a holiday weekend, pretty basic.

I was discussing Grindhouse with a buddy and he seemed a little turned off by it,he thinks they were going too far to make it feel like you're back in that era. I think it's great,go all the way,be committed.

I went to see "Meet The Robinsons" and there were a lot of kids/families,it was like a freakin school field trip. :cmad:

Yeah, damn humanity for procreating and having to care for offspring!

Yeah, the same friend who got me to see GR instead of 300 or I think I love my wife, wanted to walk out like 30mins into GR.

It doesn't make me doubt humanity though.

Maybe people are sick of kissing Tarantino's ass every time he releases a movie.

I mean if falls under are we done yet. No wonder hollywood keeps pumping out **** movies, because people go to them.

It's not like Grindhouse is the pinnacle of film making. It's just another movie fanboys latch onto. "OMG SHE'S GOT A GUN FOR A LEG!!". And they declare it the best movie they ever saw for about 2 months.

When Grindhouse comes out here, I'm not expecting a great movie, just a good one. But when it's going against Are We Done Yet, you gotta think what trashy taste people have. Ice Cube???? In a sequel to his last **** movie? I mean these people should have went to something else, not even Grindhouse but TMNT, 300 or even Meet the Robinsons. For a movie like Are We Done Yet eanring 15mil is a ****ing shame.

Yeah its insane. Why that movie needed a sequel, who knows.

I feel like that indian shedding a tear at the pollution

Wait it took you that long to lose your faith in humanity and it took some box office numbers to do it? Where have you been for the past....oh 10 years? I only say 10 because I am still young only being a quarter century.

i might end up seeing grindhouse. the trailer kind of pissed me off though. it looks like its trying soooo hard to be unique and i hate when ppl/movies do that. i like when a movie ends up being unique without trying. things im talking about would be stuff like the chick slowly blowing the smoke off her leg gun, or the fact that she has a leg gun lol

Yeah, its pretty stupid. You're right, its like they're trying too hard. It's the type of thing a 12 year old would think of. Anyone adult that would think of it would immediately dismiss the idea.

But I bet there are an endless amount of fanboys who were all like "keeeeewwwwwl" when they saw the gun leg, including guys on this board :whatever:

I've lost faith in humanity over lots of things. This is just one of them, I like these numbers from the box office the best because it's a good example of stupidity among the movie goers.

It doesn't really bother me, Lunar.

What bothers me is that Americans would rather remake Japanese horror films than just release them in American cinemas. It's like saying Americans are too ignorant to go out and watch a subtitled film, so lets just make it all American. It's offensive to both the American public and the people that made the original films.
