People look at me with :wow: knowing I haven't seen it. What do you guys think? and how many of you have seen it?

Get him! He's an imposter! :cmad:

Seriously though, I get the same looks about The Godfather and the fact that I didn't like Blade Runner. It's not that big of a deal.

Me either. I've only seen the last 3, not the originals.:csad:

You should be ashamed of yourself Bnightwing. Nah just joking. :p
But I'm really surprised, Star Wars is a cult phenomenon. George Lucas has created a very interesting world with Star Wars and you should give it a shot one day.

I am actually quite jealous, i would love to sit and watch all 3 original movies in one go first time.
Put aside a day, buy in your fav snacks, beers etc, and watch the original 3 movies back to back.

I remember I was so amped up to see Blade Runner...what a bore that was to me. I'll have to watch it again though, seeing as how I fell asleep.

Do you live in a cave or something ? I've seen the OT and PT and thought they were all pretty good. AOTC had a few problems with it , but the novel was better.

He lives in a cave. He built his computer with a box of scraps.

* yells at my staff of tech guys that they can't build me a better computer because Bnightwing built a better one made out of scraps*

I've seen the Star Wars movies so many times I can't keep count of them.

Blade Runner is a fantastic film in my opinion....but I can understand why some young people can't get into it.

Godfather 1&2 are classics of filmaking.

I'd like to hear your logic on why young people can't get into Blade Runner C. Lee.

"Them young whipper snappers will like it because that'll mean they're inside watching a movie and not playing stick-ball on my front yard".

First of all...I said SOME young people.

Many youngsters today have grown up on the quick cut editing, loud music blaring, etc type of filmmaking. The most complaints I hear from people on here is that it is BORING. Good acting, cinematography, story telling isn't boring to most people....unless all they want is flashy editing, big explosions, the latest hip hop rap music, etc...

The problem is...these young whippersnappers now have the means to watch the movie while playing stick ball in my front yard...:cmad:

What do I think? cool story, bro.

Wow, this thread is the oldest trick in the 'How To Get Attention On An Internet Geek Message Board" book. You don't see me prancing around all, "OMG GIRL! I ain't never watched 'Indiana Jones'! SCANDAL!!!" :cmad:

Fair enough. I am all about dialogue heavy movies...hell I like them more than anything. I'll have to rewatch this...then again there are so many versions out there. Which do I watch Hypesters?

Back in the day, when Blade Runner was first test screened with audiences(which led to the 1st voiceover version), the thing that the audiences said most disapointed them with the movie was that there was no chase scenes between the flying cars, lol.

Now, you have to wonder what on Earth was going through their minds when watching the movie.
I can understand them going in thinking Harrison Ford and sci-fi equals Star Wars...but you would think that they would adapt their way of thinking to the movie that was presented to them, which is more of a meditative, philosophical detective story, i mean, even at that , it can be taken as simply a cool pi/cop movie.

I have read quite a few serious film fans who do not rank the movie as highly as it's rep suggests they might, it doesn't get a pass all round.
I like it a lot myself, but can understand some critisicms of it if it doesn't particularly tickle your sensibilities, a bit boring, lead character not that interesting etc.
But i think all the element scombine for a great cinematic experience, visuals, music, the concepts behind the story, and even if you can't latch onto Ford so much, there is always Rutger to hold your interest.

Star Wars is waaaaaaaaaay better though.
whatever you do, don't watch the prequels beforehand, stick with the originals first at all costs so you are fresh going in.

You've...never seen Star Wars? That should be a bannable offense! Those films are national treasures! :cmad:
