Well?

After rewatching X3, I don't think so...he honestly thought that mutants were suffering and needed help.

Misguided, yes.
Villian? no.

Thoughts?

No, he's not. Well, not to me, anyway. He thought he was helping the mutants. BUT what he did to Angel was very cruel. "Not you too." So...yeah...so-and-so. Yeah, he's a misguided...bad guy?

Bad: No
Misguided: Yes

I think he had good intentions but went about it the wrong way..you cant cure someone of being who they are. He wanted to make life easier for mutants but in turn made it worse

I would say he's not. He created (or funded the creation of) a cure for something that people may or may not consider to be a major ailment. Holding it back would be a pretty bad thing to do.

It's all in the way the "cure" was used.

Yes he is. How do you think the government got weaponized forms of the cure? His company didn't do it behind his back.

The government is bad...just like you said in your post. They made the weapon from his invention. He only made it to help out his son. Sr. isn't a bad guy. That is like saying Alfred Nobel is evil because he invented dynamite...he tried to invent something for good use...then people constrewed it and used it for evil to kill and blow up things.

I agree, I think he's obviously influenced by societies norms, and he wants what He thinks is best for his son, which doesn't make him a bad person, just a controlling one. As for the cure aspect, he's providing something that people want (otherwise he never would have gone public with it and just injected his son). Many people voluntarily took it.

I don't think he is. He developed a cure in his honest belief to "help" his son and other mutants, firmly believing that mutants were suffering from a disease. You can tell that he truly loves his son. He's just misguided.

Misguided: yes
Villain: no.

He was just trying to be a good father. Not like William Stryker  I felt so sorry for Jason……:(

Actually, I felt a little sorry for Stryker too. He developed his hatred for all mutants after his own son killed his wife. I think that bad guys make for a more interesting character when there's a reason behind their madness
