There were no solid plans for Baron Samedi, but at the time they wanted to use him for another film, but just didn't. Either way, I still think that's cool ending.

Naomie Harris and Roger Deakins. Finally we get to see what a Deakins-lensed 007 film looks like.

It's possible, he like the Arri Alexa after working on it for In Time and he said that his next project after that is quite likely to be shot with Arri Alexa also but I don't know if Mendes likes digital.

LONDON, Nov. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli today presented the cast of the 23rd James Bond adventure, entitled SKYFALL. The film, from Albert R. Broccoli's Eon Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Sony Pictures Entertainment, is directed by Academy Award® winner Sam Mendes and stars Daniel Craig, who returns for his third film as James Bond 007. The screenplay is written by Neal Purvis & Robert Wade and John Logan. SKYFALL, which goes into production on Monday, November 7th, will begin its worldwide roll-out in the UK and Ireland on October 26th 2012 and in North America on November 9th 2012.

Joining Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Director Sam Mendes were members of the cast of SKYFALL, including: Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Dame Judi Dench, Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe. The filmmakers also announced Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney and Ben Whishaw.

In SKYFALL, Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

"We're so delighted to have Sam Mendes direct SKYFALL and be working once again with Daniel Craig. We've a great script, an extraordinary cast and an incredibly talented creative team for this latest James Bond adventure," said Wilson and Broccoli.

The Director of Photography is Roger Deakins, a nine-time Oscar® nominee who previously shot the films Jarhead and Revolutionary Road for Mendes. The Production Designer is Oscar® winner Dennis Gassner, who previously designed Quantum of Solace and collaborated with Mendes on the films Road to Perdition and Jarhead. The Editor is Stuart Baird, A.C.E., whose many credits include Casino Royale. Jany Temime, whose many credits include the Harry Potter series, In Bruges, and Children of Men, is the Costume Designer. Action specialist Alexander Witt is the 2nd Unit Director. Gary Powell is Stunt Co-ordinator, Chris Corbould is SFX Supervisor and Steve Begg is Visual Effects Supervisor, all of whom have worked on previous Bond films.

Nice to see another black bond girl and a hot one at that. Hopefully this is way better than the last boring, poorly written and directed film. Hated the main Bond girl in Qos, just hated her.

I'm not feeling the title but then again I hated the title of the other film.

I had no idea he did 'In Time'

I didn't know about that either until the movie started shooting, I guess what intrigued him on working on it is actually trying out digital cameras, good to know he's fine with digital too.

I'm not feeling the title but then again I hated the title of the other film.

I agree about having a black Bonf girl; they got a great actress! Now with the last Bond gir she was just an empty canvas...boring. though I'd argue that Fields was a better but underused (canon fodder) Bond girl in that one.

With the title, at least 'Skyfall' is short.

Asked whether he had not named all of the characters the leading actors would be playing because Bond fans might recognize them, the "American Beauty" director replied: "They might do. On the other hand they might not."

As cool as it would be to see Bardem play Jaws, I would much rather prefer a real meaty role for him to maximize his talents. Any big guy could play Jaws, but Bardem can act, so let's have him act.

That sounds a bit dubious, although most of these rumours have come true. That article does refer to Bond as a double agent though, which isn't really correct.

She'd be about the fourth of fifth black Bond girl I think. Definitely the thinnest though.

Arterton doesn't strong me as "strong female lead."

She could've been Moneypenny instead of this proposed idea that Naomi Harris (Eve) is actually Moneypenny, who starts off as a field agent but ends up as M's secretary.

I think she'd be more attractive with some more weight on her. Her frame is very thin.
