James Bond In Skyfall - Part 3

Bond could very well have scruff look for most of the film.Although both Danial Craig and Sam Mendes have called Skyfall tradional Bond I saw video of Michael Wilson at Press launch for Skyfall saying they were contuning the road they started out with when they did Casino Royale hinting at contuning the Jason Bourne Influended Bond films.

I woud like to see Sam Mendes and his Cinematographer Roger Deakins give this Bond film the look and feel of Road To Perdition and No Country for Old Men.

A little more grittier with a noirish, yet modern style as well.

Well be aware that Moonraker was Roger Moore's Die Another Day.It's a far cry from The Spy who Loved me and I consider It slighty better than The Man with the Golden Gun and Diamonds are Forever.

The Spy who loved me worked so well since they finally were able to craft a classic Bond film to match Moore's 007.There were times they even showed him a bit tougher.I loved the precredit sequence.Jaws worked as 70's Oddjob In this film. And I liked connection to OHMSS with mention of Bond's marrage.

Agreed! Specially with the bold part, very exciting intro.

Every time I see those pictures of DC I wish they would have him grow his hair out a bit.

I think he looks fine the way he is.

I hope Craig delivers the "my name is Bond...." line this time around.

He looks fine sure. But I would like "the unruly forelock that almost covers his right eye." Not that we have had many Bonds with the Bond-hair. Dalton and Brosnan did. Bond in my eyes has gotta look like he needs a haircut. Remember, he's not some sharp looking Navy officer, he's retired and works middle management at Universal Exports, his look has to say ex-military working in the private sector.

Moonraker reminds me of what happened with Batman & Robin. After an unpopular installment they went campier and lighter with The Spy Who Loved Me and Batman Forever and had a big success. Then they saw that it worked so they dialed it up to 11 for the sequel and it went too far the other way and turned it into a joke. Moonraker is better than Batman & Robin and I don't even think it is the worst Bond film, but the process was similar.

The Spy Who Loved Me
Well, that was actually pretty good!. And overall a better movie in many aspects, even the final act was top notch. Slowly the scope and the tone of the movies are starting to get a little bit more... blockbustery.
I think Bond was very good, his lines were more reminiscent (and consistent) of the first Connery movies.
On a side/personal note, I liked the nearly-disco soundtrack. It's my kind of thing. It may not be suitable for a Bond movie, but I liked it anyway.

You're coming up to my favourite score of the series, For Your Eyes Only.

So are Wade and Purvis like best friends with the producers? I just don't get why they are automatically writing all these films. The movies really need new writers.

All they did in the second Craig one was try to rip off Bourne Identity.

I never understood the love for TSWLM. It was basically You Only Live Twice except replace outer space with the ocean.

So what exactly is considered Roger Moore's best Bond film by fans and critics?

Isn't it The Spy Who Loved Me?

I would say "For your eyes Only"

Moore was given directions to be very sincere(Tracy's grave, Talking with Melina)

And he also balanced the humor and action(Citron Car Chase

Just take a look at this scene

Just a great quiet scene

I'm partial to A view to a Kill... because of the ripe 80s cheese and the kickass Duran Duran song. That song is great.

Christopher Walken? Grace ones? A killer blimp?

May I add that I was in shock that Roger Moore was 46 when he did 'Live and Let Die'. He looked pretty damn young. And while his stint as Bond went on for too long, he looked pretty good before age finally caught up with him.

Some bond fans consider For Your Eyes Only to be his best while others consider The Spy Who Loved Me the best.Said thing Is because of the reboot they can never again have any reference to Bond being married or any thinly disguised references to past films since now all films before Casino Royale never happened.Skyfall may be coming out on 50th annivarsy of Dr No's release but only films they can reference are Casino Royale and QOS.

It's not like the Dalton or Brosnan movies referenced that either besides in-jokes or references to past gadgets.

Generally it's either that or FYEO.

The Spy Who Loved Me was the first Bond movie I saw in the theater, so it will always be a large part of why I'm a fan of the series.

I can recall twice in the Brosnan era where they mention Tracy's death. Goldeneye and The World is not enough.

Ive always thought that the continuity was aways so loose that it didn't matter.

Really? Don't understand or dont like?

There are many similarities, including the director but I dont care because the aspects taken from yolt arent even the best parts of the movie.
