    Disney Reinstates Director James Gunn For ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 3’

    I'm surprised, but now we know why they didn't look for someone else to direct.

    I'm glad, he's done such a knock out job with Guardians that it's hard to imagine anyone else taking the reigns.

    Sounds like every director they went too turned them down and left them no choice. Honestly no director is going to take over a movie that isnt there vision or if they do it will be extremely difficult

    It says in the article they never met or talked to any director to replace Gunn, so no, that's not true.

    They talked to taika and I find it hard to believe whether reported or not they didnt talk to other directors from last july until now

    By 2022 the backlash will mostly be forgotten. The only ones who'll remember are us who follow these things closely. The general audience won't really care as long as they enjoy the movie

    I wonder how this will effect Eternals? Since this was originally to come first? I am guessing this will be a May 2021 release.

    I think this will be a 2022 release still, but I could be wrong. If I am, either Shang-Chi or Eternals will be pushed to 2022

    Hell yes. F*** alt right trolls. I won't defend Gunn's sick humor, but at the end of the day, it was just sick humor and he apologized. Unless something awful comes out about him, I believe he's a good guy who got targeted simply because he spoke out against our fascist, racist, misogynist, rapist president. I don't know if Guardians could have worked without him, so I look forward to seeing the team face off with Adam Warlock.

    I think 2022 is more likely, Gunn will likely need to available for reshoots, post production, press etc for The Suicide Squad so the earliest he could shoot GOTG3 would be September 2021, I suspect as part of the deal to have Gunn direct GOTG3, they can't have both films in the same year.

    Eternals I think was to shoot this year, right? That being the case, I think Black Widow and Eternals are basically locked for next year. Shang-Chi I can see being delayed. Dr. Strange 2 and GotG3 I see being 2021 movies. Possibly with BP2 depending how far Coogler is.
