As a Cyclops fan I was disappointed when Marsden left X3 for SR. But considering how X3 turned out and seeing the role James got to play - I now have no doubt that James made the right call.

I expected Richard White to be the "jealous boyfriend" stereotype with a minor part to play- I was very suprised by his significant and somewhat-complex role.

Good on you James. Well done.

Agreed. Huge X-Men fan here.

What happened with the whole James Marsden situation sucks for X-Men fans, but is great for James, and I hope the best for him. He was great as Cyclops, and it wasn't his fault that Fox became a bunch of pathetic morons.

And despite whatever hints and suggestions that may have been dropped about Lois and Superman (and the obvious, with the kid and everything), he did keep the girl :)

And the last being one of the few times that Jimmy gets the girl in one of his films...

Yeah, he absolutely nailed it. And I do like X-Men, but Superman is #1 in my book, so I've seen a lot more interviews with him based on this film than I did on the X-Films. He seems like a really cool guy and I'm glad he got to take part in this. They may not have done justice to Cyclops, but I think his career will take off from his role in SR.

I mainly blame Halle Berry's diva complex for Cyclops getting treated like **** in X3.

Cyclops should be the leader, the best. He needs to return....somehow.

I hope Fox will quit their insanity of Wolvie-obsession in time if they really want to make other movie based on X-Men.

Agreed! We need an X4 and with Cyclops trully leading this time!!!!

And I know it's not possible but Wolverine shouldn't be in that film...

Oh yes, cause Halle Berry wrote the script for X3 and all that.

That was a dumb comment. A very dumb comment. Just cause she demanded a better role does not mean she stormed into Fox and went ''KILL OF JAMES MARSDEN NO ONE BUT JAMES MARSDEN AND CYCLOPS AND GIVE ME THE LEADERSHIP ROLE!''

He didnt leave xmen to do returns he could have done both films juts like jackman did he has a film coming out soon that didnt stop him from having a major role in X3. I think it was either down to fox not liking the fact he jumped ship with singer or just didnt understand the impotance of cyclops in the phoenix saga.

He will. He and Brandon Routh are about to go straight through the roof.

The fact that he was in Australia for a long time may have been a tiny factor...

But I couldn't help thinking: "Is this the sort of quality role that Singer envisioned for Marsden/Cyke in X3???"

What if......

Gah!!! Don't go there!!!!

Don't, or you'll go insane.......at least I know I will if I keep thinking about that.

The 6 threads you have started have a combined 183 responses. Don't really think you should go around telling people what threads should be exist.

At least offer a suggestion of what thread this could be in or something.

James Marsden got the shaft in the X-Men movies IMO. I didn't like how he was pushed into the background.

Off-topic: There was a show called "Noah's Ark"(?) some years back that had Marsden in a lead role....I stumbled onto that show at one time and thought it was a show about a young Clark Kent on the farm. :o

Anyone can see how Singer was able to give Marsden such a huge role in X1 and X2 that it was difficult for him to choose between SR and X3.... yeah right. Let's face it JM was not appreciated even before X3. Let's not blame Halle or Ratner for him leaving ok?

So true, so true!

I think they will bring him back if they do an X4. And Logan will be off on his own franchise...

I'm glad he got a great role in this film...

And his show was called Second Noah on ABC and he played a teenage dad. I also stumbled onto it once and saw him in it.
