They should have kept it the way it was. It was foolish for Capt Stacy to tell Peter "stay away from her even though you love her" because you can't just not love someone. He should have asked him to protect her. With his powers and strength. The way they wrote it makes them all look stupid and selfish.

The last scene of the movie where he's behind her in class was one of the best parts of that movie. It adds to the story and thickens the plot. He knows what he's doing is wrong but that's part of his learning process. It's going to make her death even that much more emotional knowing he should have listened to Captain Stacey's last words.

And he's a "tool" for that...

Yeah, he is, you basically answered what I was gonna say. He's gonna make something happen, that he could have completely avoided, lol.

I never said you cannot voice your opinion and complain. You said that the characters are being written terribly, so you don't care about Peter's "feelings." I think you misquoted and misunderstood what Otto was saying. He said, "If you keep something as complicated as love stored up inside, it could make you sick." In other words, don't keep it a secret.

If you really love someone, you will make a sacrifice, such as staying away from them, if it means making them safe. Peter is still learning about making the right decisions, and eventually he will find there is a consequence to the one he has chosen. We know he will feel guilty in TASM2 based on set photos:

raimis MJ was always getting into trouble, 3 times in sm1 alone so you can't blame spidey

TASM peter is slightly more ignorant of that, maybe because he only had to save her once from the lizard and no villian has kidnapped her to get at spidey yet

Peter rejected MJ in the first movie after getting kidknapped once.

I don't agree with the Bane/Electro voice comparisons. I mean, yeah, they both have deep, raspy voices but so do a plethora of other characters in film. But whatever, there's always some sort of comparison. I personally am enjoying the look of Electro more and more and his voice is what I would have expected...deep, raspy, and menacing and that's exactly what it is.

I think that maybe Captain Stacy meant to keep Gwen out of his life as SM (she was deeply involved in stopping the Lizard) not to necessarily break up with her.

I don't see anything wrong in Electro having that tired whisper. It sounds great and it doesn't sound like neither Bane nor Batman. To me, it more resembles 90's TAS Electro and to some extent the TSSM version as well. He also has that electric echoe effect.

As others have said, what would they like him to sound like? Sure sounds like nitpicking to me.

I am more in favour of having a scary voice even if has a tiny resemblance to someone else's rather than trying to go for something unique and ending up have a ridiculous accent(ala Bane in TDKR)

Yeah man, I totally agree. I understand people are gonna make comparisons especially when it's in the same genre but honestly, what type of voice were they expecting Electro to use? I don't think Electro sounds at all like Bane. I agree with the 90s TAS example and the TSSM example as well....if anything Electro more than resembles those with greater influence.
