Also, why did it take so long to arrest him in the first place? Is there a statute of limitations on Jan 6 crimes?

Finding people, building a case, arresting them, putting them on trial, and sentencing them doesn't happen overnight. IIRC, there have been about 1,300 people sentenced in about 3/12 years and is the largest number of cases for a crime in the history of the DoJ.How can it have taken all these years to even get to sentencing and to this stage? It's a whole presidential term. Trump should've already been in prison all this time. If he gets reelected then there's no chance he'll ever be convicted.
I'm guessing they had to review footage...?Also, why did it take so long to arrest him in the first place?
They can't just throw them in jail like want them to.I'm guessing they had to review footage...?

I see. Well, we've seen what having a team of attorneys and a favorable SCOTUS can do. Everyone has to have rights under the system and, frankly, if you can afford it, things generally work out better for you. Trump has the right to appeal and you can't circumvent that. The SCOTUS gets to make decisions and, even when they are dead wrong, it has to stand. It's a pain in the ass to bring a case against a former president because of issues like immunity, executive privilege, etc.I'm talking specifically about Trump. There is no trouble finding him and he's the one in danger of having total immunity while the others are just small fry by comparison. He is behind it all.
Why do all of these older conservative people look like they’re wearing uncannily human skin suits that are slowly deteriorating and falling off to reveal some ugly, inhuman homunculus?MyPillow's Mike Lindell may be hauled into court to explain himself after discovery violations
If the violations continue, a judge warned: "the Court will order Respondent to appear at a hearing with its counsel and a managing officer of the company to explain its continued non-compliance."lawandcrime.com
