Jared Leto IS The Joker - - - - - - - - Part 17

Scenes I did like with Leto's Joker and would like to see more:
1) Asylum scenes (and those Joker henchmen - so freaking cool);
2) Batman chase (pure BTAS);
3) "Where is she?";
4) Chemical wedding;
5) Helicopter scenes (perfection).

Scenes I didn't like:
1) Club (I just don't like this Joker as a mob boss thing);
2) "Blah blah blah" and hand kissing;
3) Breaking Harley out (not flashy enough, unlike his own escape).

One of my pet peeves is when there is a design that is cool and the movie/TV series doesn't even let you appreciate the detail. It happens all the time on Game of Thrones. But here....did we actually see them? I honestly think we saw more of them in the trailer. What a freaking waste of a scene this whole Arkham torture/escape thing was :/

I personally liked the hand kissing scene because like @Corysxj88 pointed out that it added another dimension to his character but some scenes just didn't work for me.

The club scene is awful from beginning to end, there was nothing in it to wow me and I expect the Joker to do that in every scene he is in.

Although the car chase is B:TAS come to life, I didn't like it simply because it's a scene where freaking Batman is on top of Joker's car and they didn't even show anything from Joker's perspective, that really irked me but the rest of the scenes are pure magic.

I feel the same. Imagine them really going into Arkham. Remember those set photos they did of Arkham when (I don't remember who it was walking around, but I think they posted them on instagram or something) that guy was saying how creepy everything looked.

Why didn't we get a shot of Dr. Quinzel walking through the Asylum checking on multiple patients and then ending up with the Joker. Or when Joker broke out, him talking to other patients manipulating them to do what he wanted before going after Dr. Quinzel..... AHHHH so many thing could have been done that just would have made this movie incredible.

I think we see even less, than what we saw in the trailers... :( A few split-second shots and the goat man got the biggest exposure. 2 seconds long.

Really to me, Leto has potentional to be great. From what I seen, he's easily the most egotistical Joker and whilst we didn't get a lot of jokes, it might be due to the lack of scenes.

But the helicopter scene was pure joker.

And..I been wondering this..was this Joker wearing make up or bleached? Because at times, his neck looked normal skin colour

I wonder this too. like at the end of the movie and when he jumps out of the van, his skin looks REALLY white, but in other scenes, he is not even close to that color. just looks off.

Too me it looked unnecessary awkward. With that purring and intimacy... No.

Agree.

The scene was rushed as hell. And it wasn't filmed (edited?) well. You just don't waste opportunities like that. But I'm looking at it from pure Leto's performance perspective. He was funny there. Like, he looks into the side view mirror and like "Ooh!", or holds the steering wheel while laughing his ass away. That was awesome.

I'd like to see the whole club scene, not the cut up version we got. If it's like it was in the novelization, it would be a lot more impressive.

I think so too. Joker handing Monster T his own gun to shoot himself with.
I even liked the hunka hunka part. I think though, we really can't get a sense for who the joker really is in this movie, I hate that there was no long dialogue with him...like a real conversation...everything in this movie seemed to be cut up conversations and one liners.

True...

But I'm just glad not everyword out his mouth was just monolouges. It's what I hate about the comics now.

He is bleached but maybe he adds makeup to enhance his look whenever he wants? (he did draw a smile on his face in that scene of him on the floor) Or it's just makeup team failing

That makes sense. Reminds me of the Dark Knight Returns movie when he added some makeup.

If they decide to change up the Joker's appearance, I wouldn't mind if they did a proper adaptation of the TDKR Joker. That sort of effeminate, androgynous take on the character.

That's what I thought they were going for initially when Leto was cast.

Personally, I'll pass on that. Don't get me wrong, I do like Joker's design in TDKR but I'd rather not see it 100% adapted to live action.

I think WBs would be stupid to not release a Joker cut of Suicide Squad. They can market it very different to the BvS Ultimate Edition in that it's a cut more focused in the Joker character. They'd make a ton on Home Media with that.

WB is known for being stupid, so they'd only be following the curve they already set if they opt not to go with a Joker cut of SS.

I noticed a contradiction with Ayer's reasoning behind the "Damaged" tattoo. Ayer said Batman knocked out all Joker's teeth after he killed Robin which caused Joker to view himself as damaged... Yet the movie says Harley was complicit in Robin's murder but she clearly met Joker after he got the tattoo/grills, it doesn't add up.

Lack of communication between the actual director, and the people who edited that flashy opening.

^ The likeliest of scenarios. He should've just gone against adding it to the design anyway, though.

Yup, as much as I like the movie, WB screwed up the editing, BvS and SS both has been a victim of sloppy editing. WB need to get their act right and recruit competent people to edit their DCEU movies. I want the best possible movie in theaters and not wait for the release of a better version later.

Their sloppy editing comes mainly from the fact that they have no damn clue exactly what they want the DCEU to be. Is it supposed to be dark and gritty? Oh wait, the fans want happy and colorful.

WB is confused now more than ever.

Well this is creepy. Weird angle ha
