hello all,
thought it would be a good idea to start
a thread in the comics section of this forum since the
on going is obviously up and running.
first, thanks for the many positive comments made
about the work. no kidding, it's appreciated.
thanks also for the loyalty. this too is appreciated.
was thinking of how to start this and i got something
in the mail that provided the awnser.
just recieved my copies of the "finaly" and two things
caught my eye...
1. they didn't credit bill sienkiewicz for inking the cover. and
2. they credited me for that last pin-up of gr on his old bike
which i don't ever remember doing.

soo.. as mike meyers' character would say in snl's "coffee talk"

" go on, discuss. "

( unless of course you think this is stupid, in that case i'd appreciate
it if youl'd ignore it and act as if this never happened, )

burning rubber forever

I have a question for you, Javier...why was Klaus Janson brought in to ink the last half of "Finale" instead of either Texeira or yourself? As much as I enjoy Janson's work, I didn't feel he really quite meshed with your style as well as if Tex (or you yourself) had done the finishes.

There's not much I can say other than thanks. You're one of the reasons I started drawing, and even though it doesn't show in my art you have been a huge influence.

i'll take those questions.
ixnay,
mark and i were too
busy on the regular og so
they called in klaus fill in.
ndx,
thank you sir, my advise to all aspiring
artist no matter how old.....
draw, paint, draw, paint, draw, paint.
it is the only way to learn.
thanks again

I have to say, Jarv's pencils seem to be at their best since the rebirth of the Ghost Rider series.

Hi Javier,

i have no question, i just wanted to thank you for all your work (especially all Ghost Rider-related) Maybe you could pass my thanks to Mark ? Hope, you have a real long run on this title. And please keep us posted, if you guys should go to any conventions. I really would love to meet you both. Thanks.

hi to ndx and rainer,
thank you both.
i'll be in kansas city may fifth and sixth.
and i will possibly be in chicago in august.
jarv

Chicago sounds good. Is it okay for you, when i ask you about that in a month again ? I really playing with the thought to come to Chicago.

sure thing rainer.
actually thinking of taking my family and some friends.
we're just making sure if we will be able to swing it ourselves.
hopefully will see you there.
jarv

hey everyone.
a simple question for you.
aside from gr, what other character would
you believe my work was well suited for?
was thinking of this my self with some friends
and then had the idea,
"hey! i'll ask the guys at shh!"
go on, discuss.
thanks
jarv

Hey Jav,

It would be the greatest if you come to WWChicago because I go to his show every year. Three questions : Did you ever go to a chicago con ? Tell me you are on the WWH crossover story arc? Lastly, do you miss Danny Ketch at all?

BigD

PS
The newest ongoing is rolling (get it) along nicely and personally thanks for keeping #94 alive.
PSS
I would love for you to have a shot at the WWH but I guess you are going to get a shot at all of the big guns of Marvel really soon but I think if you did a issue of THE WALKING DEAD it would be the greatest with the B+W.

@Jarv: I'm thinking, you would do great on some other grim 'n gritty characters. You already did Wolverine. So, Punisher War Journal maybe ? Blade would be an obvious choice for me, too. Would that be an additional title or do you want to leave Ghostie ?

hi big d.
hopefully i will make it to chicago, and yes have been there before.
long time ago however. was doing the "ketch" gr at the time
which, yes i miss because i got to have a hand in creating him.
wwh! wrapping it up now. fun stuff!

rainer sir,
not looking to leave ghostie.
will draw him as long as they let me.
just an artists itch to do other things too, that's all.

I've always wanted to see how you'd tackle a character like Man-Thing, now moreso than ever. I've always felt him to be very dark, and the way you develope a dark atmosphere might be just right for the Man-Thing.

Use Your Artwork To Bring Life All The Obscure Marvel Characters! Viva La Saltares

Hey Javiar, I want to say that your art and Tex's finishes in the latest issue was beautiful, especially the scene with GR on his motorcycle with the shot of the moon behind them in the air! Amazing stuff.

Are you guys working on any posters or Dekstop wallpapers for Ghost Rider?

thanks ms.
always appreciate the praise.
think you guys will enjoy the hulk 2 parter coming up.
i know i did. as it comes out i'll have mm post the pencils.
i'm really happy with the way they came out.
got to do finished pencils on those to to give tex a chance to
catch up. anyway, keep the fire burning.
jarv

Thanks Jarv!

I'd love to see some of the artwork. So in terms of issues, what issues are you guys on right now? How long does it take for you to draw one issue? I'm really dissatisfied with the pacing of this comic, the artwork is always beautiful, but the comic is so much shorter than what you did in the 90s. Is it because the color finishes take longer?

This drawing is just freakin sweet:

This is from Issue 11, go out and buy it guys!

Hey Jarv,

Cannot wait until your and GR's turn at the WWH. Just following up a question a mention a few posts ago. Any WWChicago plans in concrete yet?
Here is a new one from a fan? Do you like the look of the current bike or do you miss Danny's bike at all? Last one, if you could bring back a villian into the fold to go against GR. Who/it would it be?

Keep up the great work and I willl keep buying them.

BigD

Keep up the great work

thanks bigd,
loved doing the hulk books.
most fun i have ever had with gr.
iss.13 especially. thanks to WAY and ALONSO
for the oppertunity. thanks also to SCOTT HANNA
for pinch hitting giving TEX a chance to catch up.
would love to change up the bike. gr too for that matter.
been talking to the powers that be and they are intreiged.
want to establish his character even more before we do
that however. hate gimiks. want story to provide reason
for a more bada$$ look and personality.
villians? doctor doom! imagine what the pennance stare
would do to him!

as for wwchicago. NO! sorry.

use to be promoters would pay their "draw" ( "creators" ) to attend shows.
( we go to COMIC conventions to meet COMIC creators )
things change. i can accept that. still enjoy doing the shows however.
creators want to meet creators too. i personally enjoy meeting the
fine people who pay my bills. gives me the chance to say "thank you".

this is the way i see it.
creators take time from their schedule from work, home and family.
pay at their own expense for flight, room and food
all to attend some ones show.
a name to promote for "HIS/HER" show which translates into dollars
in "THEIR" pockets at no added expense to "THEM".
seems to me a promoter should be greatful.
creators are fans too, so we go! our decesion, our fault or favor.
that's one thing.

it's a whole other thing for a promoter to think creators should pay
for the privilige of helping them make money on "YOUR" name.
i really don't mind paying to do some ones show. i have fun at them too.
i just can't bring myself to paying for space! it just seems greedy to me.
i know comic creators aren't rock stars but it's as if someone said.
"hey bono, come do our show for us. it'll be great! we'll make alot of money
off your name and we'll only charge you $10,000.00 grand for stage set up!"
it's just ridiculous. great idea if you can getit i guess. but thier not getting it
from me. i suppose i'm saying don't count on me appearing at any
wizardcon or comiccon anytime soon.
sorry about that
take care
