Jason Momoa IS Lobo

Guess who's back. Back again.

Fragggg yeah baby! Momoalobo. Lobomoa?

Lobomoa baby!

I'm curious to see how they incorporate him into this adaptation of Woman of Tomorrow. I'm glad Krem is still in this, I wondered for a minute if they would replace Krem for Lobo or something. Maybe it's just a short cameo or something to build up hype for a solo Lobo movie.

Regardless, super hyped! Perfect casting. I put this up there with Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool or Chris Evans as Captain America as far as just the feeling/vibe I get!

Was he the only one to stick around or is he the only one who is ready to be in a film? DCU aint that big yet

Not really a Lobo-fan and I'm kind of getting tired of Momoa, but let's be fair... This casting makes sense. Jason has the build, the charisma and the swagger to play the role. I can see him having fun with the part in a way that is hopefully also entertaining for the audience.

I'm looking back right now. I know MyTimetoShine said something similar.
Still looking, but hot damn the amount of hopium people had for Shazam 2 and The Flash. 🫠

Sure thing, Ezra Miller's phone is about to ring any time now.

Best I can find on this. Still don't know who exactly were pitching the rumors, but could have been speculation on the Lobo rumors and James Gunn and Gal Gadot WW3 spat along with promition for The Flash. I'm sure someone with a Twitter account can dig through ViewerAnon, MyTimetoShine, etc. to find out who exactly.

Not too surprising, but when someone is so perfectly cast it's hard not to get at least a little excited! Here is Mamoa a couple years ago:

I haven't read Woman of Tomorrow (yet) but I've seen lots of people comment that Lobo's not in it. I hope his inclusion doesn't sacrifice too much from the original vision, but I'm excited to see him play the character he's always wanted to play....same with David as Clark, Rachel as Lois, and Aaron as John! The DCU is shaping up to be something truly special.

As much as I enjoyed him as Aquaman, after the disaster that was Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, I'm not too sad to say goodbye to that role. Great choice for Lobo, Jason's passion for the character over the years definitely bodes well.

Woman of Tomorrow is heavily inspired by True Grit. When Tom King was originally writing it, he considered having Lobo being the Rooster Cogburn-like character and Kara being the La Boeuf character. But King changed his mind very early in the writing process as he saw Kara’s traumatic origins as lending more to her being a combination of Cogburn’s grizzled world weariness but also still having the altruistic heroism of La Boeuf. So he removed Lobo and only focused on Kara.

And it was a great decision that gave Supergirl a much deserved character study. Hopefully the inclusion of Lobo in the film doesn’t walk that back.

Lobo was conceived to be a joke of a character intended to showcase the depravity that was pervasive among comics of the time. And he resonated with audiences. They didn’t know that he was a caricature. They thought he was legit. Readers didn’t recognize that he was intended to shame the industry’s trends toward misogyny, violence, and lack of depth. Readers just saw all of that and thought he was cool. Even worse, he now basically functions as an antihero because of his popularity with readers.

I view Lobo like I do Trump. His popularity is an indictment on the lack of decency in our society.

That’s my soapbox. I’ll climb down now.

This news has got me in the mood to revisit Superman TAS’s “The Main Man” and “Little Girl Lost” two-parters.

Saw some DC account on twitter saying now Momoa is Lobo, all of the DCEU Justice League will be recast. Man, some people really can't let go.

What account? Honestly, the hardest of hardcore DCEU gatekeepers are just as bad as the Superman '78 gatekeepers to the point that they're practically two sides of the same coin. Best to pay them no mind, especially when it's just pure hope and speculation, like expecting Margot Robbie to return to the DCU in any capacity, just to pick one actor.
