Iron Man Jeff Bridges is Obadiah Stane

Yeah, most people figured this out already. Nice to get a confirmation, though.

Yeah it was pretty obvious that he was playing Stane.

Now we just need to find out who The Mandarin is and we will be set.

By the way, anyone have any recent pictures of Bridges with a shaved head? That would be ideal.

:meow: Nice,I thought he would be. :meow:

EAT IT, ADVANCED DARK!:cmad:

:oldrazz:

Ahh blow it. I said over and over I could be wrong and that perhaps they cast Mandarin without revealing it to us...my last post was he must be Stane when the hair comment came out. This wasn't a competition. I was just trying to figure it out.

Great news he's playing Stane. Its sounds like the Mandarin will be one of Stane's henchman. This is probably why they wanted to keep the name of his character under wraps since they reveal that the Mandarin will be the main villian in the film and not the Iron Monger (which will probably be saved for one of the sequels). It would probably be reveal in the last part of the movie that Stane was the mastermind behind the attacks against Stark/Iron Man.

My guess is this is a setup for the next movie, while The Mandarin will be the main villain of the first.

Well. I guess I called it when Bridges was first announced. I kind of hand a felling he wouldn't be Mandarin, didn't fit.

Thank god he isn't Mandarin (I would kill Jon Favreau, if he was)

Thumbs up for the confirmation of Bridges as Obadiah Stane. The casting of Bridges for Stane is infinitely better than having Downey as Stark IMO.

Thumbs down for yet another comic adaptation using an evil corporate magnate as the main villain. :down :down

Um, the hero is the head of a corporation so why not the villian? The idea seems to be pretty fair. Corporate leaders can be both good and evil. It's not like they're saying all corporations are evil. So what's the problem?

$10 says we get the Iron Monger besting War Machine in the second movie, and the final climactic battle in the third belongs to the Iron Man and the Monger. With other baddies thrown in the mix.

^ Sounds good to me. Now do we all think Favreau is gonna be Happy still???
I really like how Marvel studios is handling this letting the cast trickle out details here and there instead of Fox who seems to have no control whatsoever. It's way better giving the talent a little bit of room to have fun with the media then gagging them completely.

The big question now will John Goodman be the Mandarin? ;)

This is a nice away to ruin a movie, to have two majot villains together.
Stane a.k.a Iron Monger and The Mandarin...

Not saying that Favreu will ruin it, but it´s a good start...oh yeah, and it´s an origin movie, which is always good to have two villains.
Well, throw down a third for the fanboys to start building a statue in Jon´s name

Great choice. I wonder if he becomes Iron Monger in this or a future film? Can't wait to hear who the Mandarin is.

I'm glad to hear Jeff is playing Obidiah Stane, I wasn't keen on the Mandarin rumor, he'll do a good job.
You can really see how their setting the franchise up, Stane being the main villian in all three films and having henchman do the work until the third film, the second film really looks like the Demon in a Bottle story.
