Famke Janssen posed an an angel to help save animals a few months ago. But not all animal-rights activists take such a peaceful view of murdering poor, defenseless creatures in cold blood.


As a result, Jennifer Lopez may soon be assassinated.

The singer, who has never exactly been close friends with PETA, is facing death threats, a source claims.

The nature of those threats? They’re pretty straighforward, going as far as to say these creaturelovers will “to kill her in public, just like the slaughtered animals whose fur she wears.”

Yikes. Sort of puts J. Lo’s recent poor album sales in perspective, huh? Maybe the singer should turn to Scientology for protection now.

But, seriously, husband Marc Anthony isn’t taking the matter lightly.

“He has hired two off-duty police officers, in addition to her usual security team, to watch over Lopez whenever she makes public appearances,” says the pal.


While Lopez’s spokesperson says the increased security isn’t true, PETA had to speak out on the issue. Sounding completely sane and with all its priorities in order, the organization that counts Pamela Anderson as an ardent supporter stated:

“All violence is wrong. But J.Lo needs to stop the real violence she promotes and subsidizes rather than give herself extra protection she doesn’t need.”
