Planet Of The Apes crossover confirmed.

Or... "The Red Apes are coming... The Red Apes are coming..."

More like a human trying to use Kryptonian technology not realizing it could destroy the world

Or dat. :woot:

Well the extras on the Blu Ray said Lex has some if not all the tech the government recovered including the beetle ship that Zod took to get the scout ship. Even getting a look at the Scout Ship's weapons and propulsion would be dangerous stuff to muck with, and Luthor usually overestimates his level of control over most situations so there's bound to be shenanigans.

Could also be that shirt is indicative of how he sees the rest of the population of the planet, and that the "lesser apes" are liable to blow everything up soon and thus the species NEEDS him to take over to guide it properly, of course, so that we can reach our potential. :cwink:

Ultra Humanite confirmed.

Monsieur Mallah confirmed.

I just took it to be a hint of what he thinks of Superman. Someone below him, not to mention a different species, with a lot of destructive power. Not that I want Doomsday to show up, but you could twist that to refer to Doomsday too.

Ultra Humanite confirmed.

Monsieur Mallah confirmed.

I sincerely hope the Justice League villains are these two and Gorilla Grodd. Boy, wouldn't that be something

I was just recently re-watching the animated adaptation of All-Star Superman, and I was thinking that, in the not-too distant future (and provided everything goes well with the release of this film, already scheduled DCEU features and other future ventures), Lex Luthor's defeat in that series would also serve as the perfect send-off for the character in this live action universe. It's the perfect and definitive defeat of the character, imo.

I don't understand why anyone wants comics' most popular characters to be permanently excluded from the movies. This was just as baffling when Ledger fanboys were calling for the character to be banished from our screens forever after his performance.

I didn't mean it like that. I meant that, say it comes to the point where the money's not coming in as thick and fast, and the studio themselves are finally like "all right, it's had a good run, let's call it a day on this stuff and rest it for five years or so", that would be a great ending for this (or indeed any) iteration of the character. Imagine it as tying up the last few loose ends in a tv-series that's about to finally broadcast its finale. I'm not saying you should completely retire the character from further adaptations.

Yeah, I don't get that either.

Imagine a scene where a superpowered Krypto comes to Superman's rescue.

It's be hilariously awesome.

No dogs in Krypton. They do have other creatures though (speaking of which, they put incredible amount of detail in those things - creating/designing creatures of Krypton just for that one scene).

I hope his bald look doesn't take long to get into the film. Maybe they will have an after credits scene and advertisement all in one. A close up on Lex shaving his head with a gilette razor. :hehe:

Gillette will do another "HOW DOES HE SHAVE?!!!" promotion, only this time it will be about Lex. And the answer would be: "Duh, with a razor."

I'd like it as an end to a continuity of films; it seemed likely that eventually the only comic book movies will be equivalents to Unforgiven to the westerns. So I don't know if Superman will ever die as a film franchise for good in my lifetime, but if the DCEU meets its end, I wouldn't mind seeing Lex suddenly, somehow, see the world the way Superman/Clark sees it and realizing how much of his potential he's wasted, with that change in his character capping the Superman rivalry. Though ironically, All Star's Lex is the only thing I love about that story unabashedly; otherwise, I dislike most of the concepts being used (I don't give a rat's butt about most of the Superman portrayal he uses, despise klutzy Clark on a profound level, and like a harder a sci-fi scope in Metropolis instead of fantasy.)

Speaking of great moments in Lex Luthor's appearances, does anybody else love his portrayal in Action Comics #900 at the end of the Black Ring saga? I just love how petty and arrogant they have him act with godlike power, and I love how he can't, just can't, avoid hurting Superman even if it means he can fix everything else in the galaxy. I even love how they use the Smallville childhood connection to make Lex arguably more jealous and enraged that Clark, not Superman, had the childhood he had while still having all that power.

I really just hope Lex is portrayed as the super-genius that he is in comics. Hackman and Spacey played Luthors that were very smart, and cunning, but I wouldn't say they came off as super geniuses.

We need a proper super intellect to start off this new DC movieverse! Marvel has Banner, Stark, and others, I want one for the DC fans too.

Luthor is arguably the greatest human mind on DC earth. I hope that comes across in BvS.

Yeah, I want Lex as a real SciFi type genius, and therefor something that can challenge and dwarf both Superman and Batman in the pure intellect dept. Batman is a genius too, but his skill set should NOT be that of Luthor's just as Luthor's should not quite be like Batman. But Luthor is the one that needs to be a genius in engineering, genetics, cutting edge physics, sociology, medicine and on and on.

I had put forth an idea that Lex would use Kryptonian tech to threaten all life on Earth....Batman and Superman team up to takeout a kryptonite powered machine that blows up in Lex face. The kryptonite explosion does two things to him...greatly enhances his mind to super sci fi levels and makes him bald. The movie will be about how Batman and Superman form an uneasy truce...and also give us that Lex we all know from the comics.
